Brace yourself, boys. Ginger Root got noticed by Mariya. Ginger Root could very well open the floodgates of City Pop distribution to The West. If this brings Tatsuro, Kingo, Toshiki, Meiko, Taeko, and Junko over, it's gonna be one revolution of a cultural revolution.

@@hushhushonigiri Tatsuro for sure is still very active in making music. It's stylistically different from his City Pop stuff-- but I'm only fascinated by the idea of getting some of their past work, or even just their full discography, distributed in The West.

Never misses? this song tried too hard to be retro that it ends up being weird in an ugly way. Even real songs from the era this song is trying to recreate had clearer sound.

このビデオのクオリティがよい。 日本の、古い居酒屋にあるカラオケセットのような雰囲気。日本人も忘れてしまった20世紀の頃のカラオケの風景を思い出した。

個人的には「囁くのことが」って文法的ミスよりも気になる、「囁くことが辛い」の弱音の直後に「幸せになるかもー！」って情緒不安定感がお気に入りです。

There’s a band from Mexico called “Little Jesus” and they rewrote an entire album of theirs to Japanese bc of their large fanbase there, AND their love for Japan!! Not trying to pull an “aktually” move here, just hoped you would like the artist as well Cheers!!

I fall in love with the original Loretta and I also love this Japanese version as a native Japanese. Some words are wired but they also make Cameron sweet. The karaoke set is also nice like 90’s in Japan.

「ちょいダサ英語」のフレーズが醸し出す味わい深さというものがjpop史に存在していて、それと同様の楽しさをこの曲に感じます。 海外の曲を聴いて日本語母語話者で良かったと感じること、より一層味わう事が出来ると思うことはそう滅多にあることじゃない。

I appreciate that theres Hiragana over the Kanji! I'm currenly learning Japanese so Hiragana is all that I can read and when I saw the Kanji I was disappointed only to be met with the pleasant surprise of Hiragana over it as well, thank you
