​@@GingerBilly, auto makers put short beds on most of the trucks in production . You have to almost preorder it with a long bed . Those tires cost a premium as well as the routine maintenance . Your better off with something made ten years ago . But hey it's a lovely pick up truck 😂

@@GingerBilly I never liked long beds. There’s a lot of ram hater. They knock stuff without trying it. Rednecks like power. And Cummins has always been the best with a long outstanding reputation. People are always like….. fiat this! And fiat that!!! Well guess what. I’ve owned every Dodge there is. And I must say FIAT did an amazing job! They fixed just about all of the problems. That thing is like a redneck Cadillac now. I liked the old dodges. I LOVE the newer ones.

@@Questionable_creations never tell yourself that. There’s always a way. I wanted a truck so bad. I couldn’t buy one. When I was 17 I bought a 2000 dodge ram that was covered in rust and bondo spots. Sitting on concrete blocks. For 400 bucks. I knew the motor ram that was in it because I knew the history of the truck. It didn’t have a transmission and someone stripped the whole interior out of it. I made frequent trips to the junk yard and eBay. Made the whole interior brand new again. Made a deal with an old woman for a rebuilt transmission that she had sitting in her shed. I did some work for it and she gave it to me. It had front end damage too. So once I got it to where it would move I ordered them front end parts one at a time. I ended up having the baddest truck around. It already had a 6 inch lift on it. I put new 35s on it with fuel wheels. I had to have a truck. And it had to be a big truck. Because all my friends had trucks. There’s always a way. Never tell yourself that you can’t do something. I just hate that word.

And I’ve had several trucks after that. But that was the longest owned truck because I loved it so much. I spent a lot of time with that truck. Every time I worked on it I felt like I was on a date with a woman. We were really close.lol But all good things must come to and end. I still miss that truck. Like…. All the time. She had her problems but I knew how to talk to her. Breaks my heart even talking about it.

Many women I know love and drive the mega cab dually because it is prettier and bigger inside like a purse so the can bring more of their make up and tampons and it does suit them ladies. The men I know only drives the crew cab, long bed dually with the high output diesel for real work and it suites them as well.

I just find one with a blown motor for next to nothing and rebuild it. That’s how I got my 2012 ram. Actually my favorite body style. I’m getting a Cummins soon even if I have to pay a note.

Yeah dodge is annoying with that. When they first came out with the quad ab, they literally shortened the bed slightly from the3 extended cab. So my friend with a extended cab has a truck that's the same length as my quad cab

@@GingerBilly Be honest, these been run hard towing trailers. Never really had issues doing that. The only crazy issue I had was the oil line in the radiator cooling had a hair line crack and oil was going into the radiator, but coolant never went into the engine. After a flush and replacement it was good to go. I think that was about $1200. Just do your filters and oil regularly and you will be very happy. I won't give mine up!

I think she will do fine. The 6.7 is such a good motor but the dern transmissions in the dodges ain’t the best.

Aisin trans will do everything you need. 68rfe will do well, but can be built to be strong as hell if needed.

I’m more concerned bout the suspension geometry while weighted down with the gooseneck. Most lift kits report to keep factory towing characteristics but I have seen time and time again that they are diminished to some degree when towing due to the lift. Take your time loading the equipment the first time. Take your gooseneck empty to the weigh station. Get an empty weight. Then load it and do the math to get just the right amount of neck weight. May take a couple times in the scales. Then mark the trailer for that piece of equipment. Best wishes and safe hauling.
