I have used a cut piece of pvc pipe in the middle surrounded by large pieces of styrofoam packing pieces that stabilize it. Works perfectly, THis room turned out so sweet and magical. Love the house theme throughout. Any child would be so happy to eat at this table with a twinkling tree in the corner . I have also used the cookie ornaments, but I put them in a cellophane bag tied with a bow and stack them in a bowl on the hutch. Just a sweet cozy visual. You do need to have real cookies on hand when everyone is disappointed they are not real.. haha

I love how you incorporated the candy and vintage ornaments with the gingerbread! I have re-watched this several times in the past week as Hobby Lobby just put their 2023 Christmas items at 50%off. I'll have to go back as I forgot to get the lollipop picks

I used an old beautiful crock that was my husband’s mother’s. We put the tree in and filled it with gravel and it worked perfectly. I love the cute gingerbread houses.

I used the gravel last year to pot some lighted birch trees in urn planters, worked well! I never thought to do that with a Christmas tree though!

A friend of mine wanted to use a large chinoiserie plant pot for her tree. She ran into the same problem. She ended up purchasing a few bricks with the right sized hole to fit the pole of the tree. She then covered them with cotton snow. It worked perfectly and no chance of her tree falling.

Oh Elizabeth ~ just when I think “this can’t top the last one”…YOU DO ! What a delicious room! I love the top of the hutches… then the tree… truly CANDY TO THE EYES ! Scrumptiousness in every corner 💕💕 The tree bottom , I had my husband cut those legs that come with the tree to fit my basket and put bricks around the bottom to stabilize it. But that was years ago. I like your idea, except so much for working out during Christmas ….😂 So well done !!! Yes a tour by candlelight…any tour is exciting and a treat ! God bless and have a beautiful week ! 💕💕🌲🌲💕💕

An outdoor patio weighted umbrella stand base does the trick for the unconventional pots/basket christmas tree bases that actually fit the tree rods! 😉

You can make your own using Quick Crete a bucket and a piece of PVC pipe just a bit larger than the metal pole of the tree. Cut the bucket away, then just slide the tree in every year. I have two that we made and they last for years.

Love this candy/gingerbread room SO much! It reminds me of a room that “Mrs. Claus” would have at the North Pole. I’ve always wanted to do my kitchen this way for the holidays. I’m getting so many ideas from you for next year, since my kitchen is under renovations this year. I even went to Joann’s and bought those gingerbread picks. I can’t wait to be able to pull something together for next Christmas! Your kids must love this!

Hi. Maybe you can use a small, round, metal, sun umbrella base. Or you craft your own base with a metal bucket and throw cement in there with a metal tube in the middle, which fits your tree.

I bought the same pics at JoAnns. I didn’t cut mine off. That’s a good idea. They only had three when I got mine. I can’t believe how similar our taste is !!!!! Thought the weights were a brilliant idea. You and I decorate almost the exact same themes in each room. My e try is winter wonderland but mine is done with blue and white, our kitchens are very similar as well, and my main Tree has a Victorian feel for sure. Elizabeth, I absolutely love your style. I bet the kiddos love the gingerbread theme. I've had my grandchildren this weekend. They've really been enthralled with my vintage Victorian tree in my living room, most all of the ornaments on it date back to the very beginning of the 1900s. Most are all hand-blown, gifted to me by my grandma. It's truly beautiful!

I would have used the round base and then flipped the basket upside down. Cut a hole just large enough for the pole and it would have worked because it was just the rim that was stopping it

I'm definitely team gingerbread room! The bright colors and fun candy decor is just so cheerful :) I just looked up a recipe online and sadly I do not remember exactly which one it was. I do remember it was just flour, salt and water and then you bake it at 200 for a couple hours until dry - super easy!
