1400s when GingerGM plays them: *Random pawn moves and checks* 1400s when I play them: "Allow me to introduce you to 20 moves of Sveshnikov theory".

I don't know why but after watching so many chess videos of all kinds on youtube, simons longer chess games and blitz elo rating run videos seems to have the greatest educational impact for me. Hearing your thought processes while playing helps me a lot more than studiying theoretical lines. Thank you, sir!

GingerGM and Naroditsky are my 2 top chess streamers. And both just uploaded speedrun videos within an hour of each other. Happy days! I now feel inspired to get on Lichess and put these lessons into action where I will no doubt proceed to lose ten games in a row.

Thank you for these speedruns! I've been missing them. You do fantastic job in explaining the ideas, visualizing the calculation and demonstrating how to constantly evaluate the position after each move.

Enjoying these again after a two year wait. Thankfully my memory is shit enough that it all seems like the first time I've seen these.

Excellent instructions, watching Simon's thought process is amazing. Everyone can learn from these speed runs, weak squares, best place for your pieces and adapting your plans. Thank You Simon

Thank you so much Simon, I greatly appreciate the clarity behind your thought process. Greatly looking forward to you moving to opposition in the 1800 to 2100 range, though you might find that at that level you may need to switch to 10 minute games to be able to fully explain your thinking. I know all your fans are very grateful!

Nice work Simon! Thank you! My uncle who is a 2300+ player recommended you and you’ve helped my game improve a lot. I started around 800 in 2020 and now at 1500+ in rapid.

Really great video here. I like that you play such a diverse set of openings in these and so often get these closed positions. It's great watching Naroditsky pressure people non-stop and then play some mad tactic that crushes, but I think seeing you block and block and wait for errors and then pounce is actually probably more instructional to me and all the other weak players out there. Thanks!

When I started playing chess 5 years ago I had a higher rating than now, although I have played more than 5000 games online since then. This video reminds me that I have to stop followng my intuition and go with the first move that come to mind - often a intuitive response to my opponents move - and rather trusting the position, stay calm and let the position I have maid do its work. Thank you!

Just discovered your channel Simon having watched a lot your commentary on the champions chess tour. Really appreciate the pace of the videos, the quiet instructiveness. Very easy to absorb and great for low level players like myself to learn!

Excellent as always. More manoeuvring in these games showing the power of the knights in locked positions. I find that one of my (many) weaknesses is seeing the opponents plans.

Yeah I'm 1400 and I've fallen prey to that kind of smothered mate. It's easy to consider the king pretty safe when there's so many pieces around him. 🤣
