Gingivectomy - This video describes the surgical technique to excise enlarged gingiva. The video provide information about the various types of gingivectomy, indications and contraindications the procedure along with the different instruments needed to perform the procedure. The video also describes the gingivectomy procedure in steps with diagrammatic illustrations along the healing that takes place after the surgery. This video will be helpful for periodontist and general dentist in clinical application and also for students in their exams.

got one tomorrow at 5:15pm top 4 incisor gums and bottom 4 incisor gums need doing due to bruxism so the dentist can fit a bridge

Yo how does it went? I know its been 6 months but how is the procedure? Does it hurt or do you experience discomfort during procedure?

@@timigga543 half way through the procedure I did feel discomfort and could feel the cutting and some pain so I just lifted my hand and he injected me with more lidocaine and I felt nothing. After the procedure I put ice bags on my face to reduce the swelling and took some paracetamols again to do he same. I bought those dry ice bags that you buy from the pharmay which u punch to break and then shake, they stay freezing cold for 15-25 minutes. After the procedure there was no pain or discomfort which is weird considerig what I had done. Also had to wear a moist bandage thing pressed up against my gums when i left the surgery and for 24 hours after, had to change it a few times per day. All my teeth are now artificial, crows for the back teeth and bridge / veneers for the front, crowns are gold infused with porceline. They had to raise the bite due to wearing/grinding of he teeth, the bottom incisors were severely worn down to stubs just above the gum line. The gum cutting is not as bad as u think.
