Tucked away in the Deeproot Depths we found this Spear and it's shaping up to be one of my favorites... This run is part of a challenge I did to complete multiple different no-hit runs that my viewers requested before the end of 2022. There were 40 requests and I managed to complete them all just in time.

Rules: Complete the game while not taking any staggers or damage from enemies or traps. Environmental or self hits/damage are allowed, including fall damage. There is a required death at the beginning of the game which is not counted as a hit because it is needed for progression.

The snail thing is just a reminder about how there are so many enemies in this game that are positioned in a way to catch you off-guard kill you. Considering how big the game is, any kind of no hit run is just hard to wrap my head around because of that alone.

The moonveil's strength is how fast the aow comes out combined with it's decent damage. It's literally just unsheathe with a laser projectile.

@@Floviken1 I never used it, I'm sure it is, from recent videos of it I've seen, that it's still considered "overpowered" is confusing though, I think it's just something people keep parroting to this day since the time it _was_ overpowered but no longer is. It used to have massive poise damage that it doesn't anymore apparently. Now it just seems like a very good weapon (and despite it getting shit on because of PvP abuse it's cool to me as like a MLGS but in katana form).

I remember getting moo veil early in the game and every boss felt so trivial. I have 300+ hours in the game now and I still think moonveil is one of the best weapons in the whole game

It's still good damage and aoe clear, but yeah, wish it wasn't hit *so* hard. like dropping it down to 30 would have been impactful, it feels like an intern got mixed up. "nerf it down 10" "you mean to 10?"

FromSoft has this problem with overcorrecting things as "balance." It's a celebratory occasion when they actually find a happy medium. 25, or even 20 would've been an acceptable downgrade to me. Or just a lot more FP use. I'd like to see it as an incantation with its original power, maybe make it a high-requirement spell? Anything besides the Icerind Hatchet treatment. (Though I will say what they did for Bloodhound Step and whatever those blood katanas were, I forgot already, was acceptable - those are still good but don't allow you to BS things with no skill or investment like before)

@@lordderppington4694 It's not good damage. It's one of the lowest damage ashes of war in the game with next to no poise or posture damage. With a shitty charge time. Making it cost more would've been better. Maybe make the recovery worse to prevent chain spamming or something.

@@asdergold1 idk, have not data mined files for scaling and comparative numbers, but it's one shot every basic enemy I've fought so far in the game, and I've never had trouble finding an opening to use it. Not saying it's top teir, just saying that I still find use cases for it, even if it's a shadow of what it was.

@@lordderppington4694 Oneshot? Where with what upgrade level? Check the health normal mobs have and use a charge attack with a decent weapon with the same upgrade level. Or just compare the damage with other ashes. Honestly do try to use it against bosses. And besides using 99% normal mobs as an example is irrelevant since they are basic bitches that can easily die to an R1 or R2 depending on the weapon.

Strength Faith was always my choice for, like, the best Faith build. Because you get an amazing combination of both fire and holy weapons, as well as better scaling on some incantations with more strength and it's just super fun to play an unga-bunga priest.

I’d like to suggest the one-eyed shied for a later run and it’s aow is op it’s basically a rocket launcher and I haven’t seen him use that or the flamethrower shied

My third run was a Str Fth build and this thing was absolutely my favorite choice for it. Just shooting lasers at everything or turtling up behind a shield trivialized a lot of the fights that are supposed to be hard with holy damage

I consider healing yourself by hitting enemies after you’ve taken damage quite a cool mechanic that is unique to Bloodborne. I also love the way parries work, shooting enemies mid-attack just feels so badass.

Also an off-hand gun being the default was pretty cool. I think Gino is biased by his lack of ever using shields lol, the off-hand slot is used for very different things in Bloodborne and the Souls series.

I'd love to see a Giant Crusher no-hit run! Would be interesting to see, since it's a rather slow weapon that deals rather high damage as opposed to the iron balls who are both fast and hard hitting.

I went I to the coliseums with a bunch of character builds, banished knight, black knife assassin, etc. But I was blown away when I did the crucible knight character. I was oneshotting players using the scorpion faith talisman, Alexander warrior talisman, charged attacks talisman, and sheild block boost talisman. Then players would see I was a ranged threat and rush me, only to get 3 shot by my spear as I blocked all their attacks while simultaneously attacking for bonus counter damage.

Another ash of war that’s underrated is the ice spear ash of war I was shocked of the damage I did almost no set up just a crack magic flask a a plus 25 weapon and I was hiring for like 2000 damage each hit which is insane considering the range when you chuck your weapon at the enemy and the frost build up is nice

@@natebarg he was waiting for it to do a certain attack that leaves a big enough window of opportunity for him to build up enough poise damage, so that when it starts casting Elden Stars (when going below 50% health), he could get the final poise hits in and stagger it out of the cast, therefore avoiding having to deal with Elden Stars.

He was waiting for a good opening to stagger Elden Beast during Elden Stars' startup. Elden Stars could easily kill the nohit run, so the whole setup was intended to prevent it from ever coming out.

I was confused the first few videos I saw but now I'm assuming the use of the Rogier's Rapier's glintblade skill is to add to the poise damage meter that mostly has specific usefulness for the Erdtree Avatar and Maliketh? How much poise damage do the four blades deal when they land?

You can check on the wiki, each glintblade does 10 poise damage for a total of 40, the same as pre-nerf flame of the redmanes.

yep....there is a seal beyond the Sewer Mohg fight (before the jumping puzzle) that is locked by Morgott fight. Deep Root Depths access is locked by either Radhan or Morgott.

hey gino, how did the elden stars stagger skip work? I know redmane got nerfed so I'm assuming this was pre-patch, but how did you stagger it with a single cast? Does Nevermind I noticed you built it up earlier, and used the kukris to keep the poise meter from resetting until you saw the startup animation.
