Ambrogino Giovanni is technically a Cappadocian, as he was Embraced by Constancia. There is also Lazarus, who may or may not be the Capuchin. If we're talking about the uneasiness between the Samedi and the Giovanni, there was a point where the Baron Samedi and Augustus personally had a meeting, and they hated each other ever since. Which honestly tells me that the Baron, being a 5th Generation vampire, must be quite the fearsome creature to stand up to either (depending on whether you think the diablerie went through or not) a 3rd or 4th Generation Augustus. There is also Troglodytia, who had the features a lot like a Samedi. It should also be noted that the especially decayed appearance that the Samedi became known for was actually a problem that many Cappadocians began having in the Dark Ages, as the Clanbook Cappadocian has that as a Clan Flaw and mentions that the rotting appearance had happened with a number of Cappadocians. It is also highly implied that the Samedi were Cappadocian Infitiores, vampires that essentially disowned themselves from their Clan and eventually travelled to Haiti and the Caribbean, which is very conveniently where the Samedi appeared.

The tale of Cappadocius finding a traveller camping for the night I found intriguing. He bursts in and finds the Beduin praying for God to protect him. To my understanding the Lamia largely went into hiding prior to the consumption of Clan Giovanni. Bar the few who did not follow the Cult of Lamia/lilth, who were destroyed, the bloodline remained in shadows. That's according to some of the notes in DA V20.

So in my current game I have a Giovanni seeking to rip open a large section of the veil so that they can have a Spirit of death enter through. He believes that he can capture and control this spirit. Once he does he can then use the spirit to protect the clan against the wild and vengeful ghosts and wraiths that escaped Augustus Giovanni’s control. While at the same time secretly influance other members of the clan. He also believes this will get him into the inner circle.

My guess is essentially that the Camarilla offered a 500-year deal that basically goes one of two ways. If in 500 years the Giovanni are weak and unworthy the interest of the Camarilla, the Camarilla destroys them, and uses it as propaganda, wiping out usurpers and interlopers in Kindred society. If in 500 years the Giovanni are powerful - they're offered a place at the table, and hopefully can't afford the cost of making enemies of the whole Camarilla.

I quite liked your summation I feel like you missed a little something by not mentioning their connection with dis pater basically an aspect of Hades Plutarch because I always particularly like Pagan blood lines of vamps whatever you want to say about the Giovanni because they are basically like The Borgias ironically many of them because of strong belief are Catholic now Dis pater probably hides in a few Saint Peter icons but that's for the necromantic ritual part their black version of mass basically I feel like that big spook Dis Pater is a minor aspect of Hades particularly good at finding gold and wealth because Pluto was strangely more of an earth aspected deity
