Giovinco: The Most Entertaining Player in MLS History?

Toronto FC announced that the club has transferred star forward Sebastian Giovinco to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal FC.
The 2015 Landon Donovan MLS MVP helped lead TFC to five trophies, including the treble in 2017 when the Reds won MLS Cup. In four seasons with TFC, Giovinco made 142 appearances with 83 goals and 64 assists across all competitions.

Nessun giocatore che ha militato in europa ed ha finito li, è riuscito a fare quello che ha fatto lui...qnd un applauso a Giovinco! Molti qui sotto lo citano come il miglior giocatore della MLS di sempre.. Inoltre ha guadagnato bene, si è divertito sicuramente , il pubblico lo ha amato, e ha fatto vedere a statunitensi e canadesi un po' di calcio spettacolo

Si infatti la serie A è bellissima, abbiamo i migliori difensori del mondo degli ultimi dieci anni, non siamo andati agli ultimi mondiali 2018, vince la stessa squadra da otto anni il campionato di calcio italiano, non perché le difese siano così forti.

@@momimio guarda che il campionato italiano è di alta qualità..solo che la Juve domina..ma il Napoli è fortissimo..Inter, Milan e Roma se la giocano tra di loro ma non sono proprio delle squadrette...più in basso Lazio e Fiorentina ma cmq squadre insidiose...Atalanta...Samp...Parma...non credo che altri campionati (oltre a quello inglese) possano vantare tutte queste squadre competitive.. Cioè in Italia può mandarti in crisi anche il Genoa se è in giornata...

Oltre la juve in Champions non c è nessuna squadra e tranne la Roma nessuna squadra (compreso il Napoli del bel gioco) ha fatto i quarti negli ultimi anni (i quarti non la semifinale) quindi tranne laJuve e la Roma nessuna squadra è stata competitiva in Champions e in Europa league tranne il Napoli nessuna squadra è considerata insidiosa (né la Lazio e Inter che va be so uscite né l atalanta che non ha passato manco i playoff né la Fiorentina che non si è qualificata e nemmeno il Milan che non ha passato manco i gironi). Non mi sembrano risultati di squadre considerabili competitive

When considering his length of time in the league, excitement on the field, overall impact and productivity to his team and the MLS, he was/is THE BEST in the MLS.

What Ranieri did when he was in Juventus was unjustifiable. Sebastian was brilliant also in Serie A, he should have follow Zola on West-Ham but he was stubborn to try to come back in Juventus. But i am glad he showed his true skills in Serie A when i was in Parma and the few match that Ranieri let him play. In Toronto he became the star he deserved to be.

@@eddiedomagala296 Yeah I saw that. I reached out to Boyd on intsagram and he seemed excited to start with Toronto. Sofiane does seem likely and that still leaves room for the DP who i'm excited to see. It's an unpopular opinion but I think we'll do alright this season depending on how we play our cards.

Boyd is a shitty depth player. Ignore him. He’s Ricketts’ replacement. Hanni is Vazquez replacement. They’re still working on the third DP who’s yet to be named.

I'm more impressed by the low level of defenders and goalkeepers, honestly. In Serie A, Giovinco was a fair player with good technical skills, but because of his size, he couldn't really cope with an average italian defender. Good talent though.

@@DavZambo98 non penso poi più di tanto. Sono gli stessi numeri che faceva al Parma ma la differenza sta nell'imbarazzante difesa americana. Lo marcano male,disuniti e a 10 metri. Uno come lui va a nozze con tanta superficialità. Infatti in Spagna lo avrei visto benissimo. In Italia ha sofferto piazzamenti e fisico...infatti non ha combinato tanto da noi

@@50sfumaturedigamers82 si in effetti il "parecchio migliorato" è un po' esagerato, però secondo me il tiro è molto meglio di prima, mi sembra che faccia più gioco di quando era alla Juve, poi può essere che mi sto sbagliando di brutto In ogni caso tanti pensano che sia un fenomeno sottovalutato, altri Dicono che è un bidone.. Secondo me è sempre stato un buon giocatore, se dovesse un giorno tornare in Italia io lo vedrei benissimo in squadre come Atalanta, Fiorentina o Torino

@@DavZambo98 si ma in molti casi i portieri erano fuori posizione. Tuttavia un miglioramento c'è stato ma anche a Parma tirava delle belle punizioni o tirava bene da fuori area. Forse sembra migliore perché oltre ai portieri c'è anche una difesa che gli permette di ragionare. Si in quelle squadre starebbe bene perché avrebbe meno pressioni rispetto ad una big

È sempre stato un gran giocoliere, i suoi numeri e i suoi fondamentali sono del livello dei migliori calciatori in assoluto. In quel ruolo non arrivi così a vestire l'azzurro, ma solo se vali davvero. n Italia però scompariva appena il gioco si faceva davvero duro, i suoi unici limiti erano atletici e questo nel calcio di oggi purtroppo conta tantissimo

Just because Giovinco was more about spectacular dribblings and tricks... while Insigne is more about intelligent play... smart assists etc. TO understand that Insigne is better than Giovinco you need to know very well football...

Tip: Insigne is much stronger than Giovinco. If he will train adn work seriously, he will certainly make you forget about Sebastian Giovinco.

Dico solo che, visto che in Italia Insigne ha fatto una carriera decisamente superiore a Giovinco, mi aspetto che negli States faccia altrettanto... poi c'è anche da dire che Giovinco è emigrato al Toronto quando avevo 26 anni, mi sembra, Insigne ne ha già più di 30... Comunque, pretendi di giudicare cos'avrà fatto Insigne nella MLS da UNA PARTITA, che ha giocato dopo aver fatto tipo 3 allenamenti, mentre gli altri giocatori sono nel pieno della stagione? Dio, sei proprio una testa di pallone senza speranza... aspetta almeno che Insigne abbia giocato la stesso numero di anni che ha giocato Giovinco nella MLS, e DOPO fai il confronto... è tanto difficile da capire?

The best for the MLS! No doubt.! He showed this league and the city of Toronto some great football. Too bad he just could not physically handle the toughness of Serie A defenders. Too big..too strong..too good for him. Just ask CR7 , he seems human in serie A.

Are you really comparing him to Messi? Messi could have probably play ALONE with a MLS team and still win the game... Messi is like 4 or 5 Giovinco mixed togheter.

giovinco + altidore + vazquez and 2017 TFC were the most exciting thing that happened in MLS history. change my mind. they were such a delightful team to watch in that treble year. lost out on the champions league with penalty shootout. they could have become the best ever team in MLS history with no arguement if they didn't lose on pk shootout,. still no MLS team has come that close so far.
