First, she did not unintentionally harm him. She deliberately poisoned him with the essential oil with the goal being the he would lose his sense of taste. This was partly to punish him for breaking up, but mostly to make him more reliant on her. She also admitted that it did not matter to her if he was further damaged by the poison because she would be there for him - so him getting sicker or losing more senses is a win for her. She followed that up by saying that if she could not have him, then no one else could. That should tell any rational person that she is willing to continue even if he dies considering that she has already (with malicious forethought) poisoned him over an extended period of time. This is like an obsessed stalker version of Factitious disorder - previously known as Munchausen Syndrome by proxy. Like those mothers who deliberately make their own children sick in order to feed off the respect and admiration they get from others for being so caring and self sacrificing when they are taking care of them. Only in her case, it is power and control. He is a world famous chef and she wants him to belong only to her. The fact that she is claiming to feel guilty or regretful over what she has done is crap when you consider that she is still willing to let his health deteriorate further. It also cannot be claimed that she mentally broke because he did not love her anymore since she admitted that he never loved her. From everything I have seen of the show, the way he behaves towards her now is nearly identical to the way he has treated her all along - even when they were together. The only difference is that they don't socialize outside of work anymore - which isn't much of a difference because they barely did that because everything was about the restaurant. For him, his craft, his art, and his restaurants have always come before anything else and she has always known that. For her to do what she has done - even knowing that shows that this is related to her ego. She wants him to belong to her and be dependent on her alone and it is not for emotional fulfillment since he will not and has never provided that for her and she knows it. She needs to be in jail and that doctor needs to have his license removed. First, because he is willing to potentially let her continue and secondly, because he is required to inform both the patient and the police of what he has discovered. He also needs to have his ass kicked because the chef is one of his best friends and he is still willing to keep silent.

in many ways I agree with you about her emotional instability because of parental pressure; however, what I cannot seem to accept is the means she used to do it. She hurt the person she claims she loves and would like to lean and rely on her. I think that is selfishness on her part. Instead of allowing her "loved one" to flourish, she hampered it, but she didn't get him anyway. Damage is done and even if it is reversible, the scar does not disappear. I'm sorry if you disagree with me. this is just my take on her action.

So Elise (girl who was blackmailed for money, made poisoned porridge) has emotional attachment issues that cause her to cling to a chef (Mr. Jiang, the guy who the porridge was intended for) even after they broke up. Because of her issues, she slow-poisoned the chef, causing him to slowly lose his ability to taste, making him dependent on her own sense of taste, in order to keep the reputation he developed as one of the "Greats". He found someone else, Lin Kesong (girl who ate the porridge and the medicine in the green bottle), who has a significantly better sense of taste, and basically replaced Elise. At this point, the doctor has just been informed that Elise may have sabotaged Mr. Jiang's health, but he doesn't believe it because he is friends with both Elise and Mr. Jiang, and knows how much Elise still likes Mr. Jiang (he is not aware that she's obsessed, he thinks it's just a lingering, long-term crush). At this point, he isn't hiding it, so much as that he thinks it's a mistake or a coincidence, and wants to confront Elise about it first in order to get her side rather than potentially confirming a mistake as sabotage to Kesong. The Doctor is unaware (likely in denial) about Elise's true behavior. When he finds out, he's in too deep; because he let himself get used by her into providing advice, medicine, and items that she sabotaged.

Yeah and it's really sad when Oliver will know that two of his bossom friends made him blind and tasteless 😒 and the dr was just silent letting it all happening, such a monster
