The Catholics specifically stated the monogamy was a religious Institution. Next to nobody practices monogamy as designed. It required women to give her best years remain virgins for the man and be a helper to him for the man to protect and provide throughout his best years.

If you don't want to be monogamous, stay single and just have fun safely. Date around, don't lead anyone on, use protection, especially birth control. Get tested every time you switch partners.
@TheThirtyJourney

I’m here for monogamy even though it seems like most are drifting away from it but what I will say is that if people would be honest with themselves and deal with their issues of lust, unfaithfulness and whatever other desires they may have before entering relationships and marriages, there would be less divorces and folks feeling like monogamy is unnatural and unrealistic. No one is forcing anyone to be married or in a relationship. If you know you aren’t ready to commit to either, it’s quite simple...Don’t.

Monogamy isn’t actually natural for men. Monogamy is a choice. You should choose to be monogamous and faithful to your partner/spouse if you want the relationship/marriage to work. It’s an active choice. I think it’s better to say that it’s possible for people to be monogamous, but they have to *choose* to be faithful. It’s all about commitment.
@colbalt95
@colbalt95 2 жыл бұрын
@@alecksa9857 it is only in recent history people especially women that have had the luxury to afford to marry after men that they have a burning desire for out of love. Monogamy was done for business purposes and was about Duty. The reality is because males conditional she ate emotional attachment from sex, as long as he protects and provides, he still loves his woman.

I think it’s a blanket statement to say because so many people have a problem with monogamy so it’s unnatural. People have a problem with lying, is telling the truth unnatural. People have a problem with stealing, is it unnatural to keep your hands off things that aren’t yours? Blanket statements are not the best decision. I started typing this before Loni’s comments but I agree completely.

Honestly , whatever works for you , works for you ! I feel like people don’t understand how hard it is especially being in the public eye especially when people are tempting you even when you don’t necessarily intend to cheat... so if you want to have a open relationship or be monogamous or polygamous , then do you, but that’s you ! And not everybody has to agree and that’s ok too ! I know for me I’m not into being with two people... one is enough for me and all I need ! I’m hella loyal and can’t imagine two women sharing me or me and another guy sharing a girl ! So to each it’s own

Monogamy [for the most part] is not natural. It is a choice. Ideally, we want to find comfort, security, companionship, etc. with one person. It's convenient & smart, like a business partnership. But it's an idea that doesn't always come true. Not everyone is lucky enough to find that one person you can be emotionally & physically attracted to your whole lives together. That's when the work really comes in.

I love when this conversation gets brought up bc I shut it down when I say what women crave naturally. A lot of men are not well off and women crave security/financial backing. If women acted naturally we wouldn’t date any guy who makes less than 6 figures.

I worry that i am incapable of long-term romance. No matter how hot someone is, after a while i'm over it. Its not whether i am capable of monogamy, its more that i don't think i'm capable of long term relationships. I get that not everybody has that spark after years of being together, but i like having the spark. It feels good. If relationships could forever feel the way they do in the beginning i would be happy but it's never like that for me. So i am a serial dater :( I strongly believe people who do stay together long-term aren't just doing it because they are still madly in love, it's more that there are other more important factors like having a family that take precedence over needing romance. At least that's why i'm still with my husband :p

I don't like the idea of "not being monogamous =/= not loyal" because people who are polyamorous can still be loyal to their partners/partner. That being said, I do want more discussions on monogamy and polyamory on television with hopefully some polyamorous people there as well.
@jennyeddins7809

I think monogamy makes the most sense. Bouncing from one person to another might seem like fun when you’re young, but eventually you’re going to get old and have no one to share your last years with and die alone....while possibly having multiple baby mamas out there and 10 kids to pay child support for.
@colbalt95
@colbalt95 2 жыл бұрын
That's not necessarily the case for men by nature. Men do not have a time clock on relationships or will reach an age where no one will have sex with him as long as his confidence and resources is straight. Hugh Hefner was smashing 20 year old women when he was 90 years old right before he died. Also, because males are naturally polygamous they can cope with loneliness much better since most males historically have never propagated.

I think the concept of meeting one person and spending the rest of your life with only that person (from a biblical) standpoint sounds great, but it isn't natural. That is why people who can meet their soulmate or best friend and be committed to them and only them, is so rare and special. What I find so disconcerting about people that can't stay committed and faithful, is the deceit. I just don't understand how someone can profess their love and respect to your face, and then go behind your back just to get their rocks off. It's the lies than are the most egregious. I could never cheat. If I got to a point where I met someone I wanted to be with more than who I was with I would leave. Period.

Men and women hate on each other so much these days. Stop being so jaded and find beauty in the opposite sex and not just in a lustful way. As a woman I appreciate and respect men...their strength, their protective nature, their take charge attitude. That doesn't make me less of a person...I would hope men find my 'womanly' nature just as endearing. That being said I'm in a monogamous relationship. I don't think I would be content in any other type of relationship. I don't want to share my husband's attention, time, resources, etc. with anyone else. And I want to give all of myself to him. I want him to feel special and know he's the most important person to me.

These kinds of questions are dumb... is it natural? Yes if it exsists in nature it is natural. Now you can have opinions if humans should or shouldnt practice it but it is very much natural.

@john smith and you know who I think of when I have sex? Lol you are ridiculous. This is why I hate humans, you believe you know everything and that you have the right to tell others who they are and how they function, even if it's a complete fucking stranger. Bullying people into what you want wont change what they are, and you calling me a liar wont change my 100% monogamous ways. Now go cry to your mum because there is someone who doesnt apply to your human generalisations.

That is 100 percent correct on that. get married for you not for anyone else unless it's a green card situation lol =) You just trying to help a brotha or sista out lol =). Just because monogamy isn’t natural for one person doesn’t mean it’s not natural for someone else. I believe monogamy or polyamory is part of your sexuality. It’s like saying just because someone is bisexual means that gay/straight people aren’t natural.

Monogamy isn’t natural. Biologically our species wants to survive and reproduce. However choosing to be monogamous shows how strong a connection 2 people can have. So while it’s not natural it is meaningful.

This is sad. Marriage, monogamy is not the problem, it isn't broken. It's the people who are. This world hates to admit it but they don't know it all. They have problems and think I can do this; I can fix it on my own but they can't. You didn't create yourself, GOD did. Man was never made to be without GOD. GOD created, designed & blessed the institution of marriage HIMSELF. With the plan of one man & one woman coming together as one. Genesis 2:24 -Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. The whole design of marriage is not just for romance. No, it's function is to bear children (be fruitful & multiply) and secondly to reflect the unconditional shape love of CHRIST & HIS bride (the church). Without GOD, it can never be how it should be. Whatever that is in life.total Completion can only be found in CHRIST alone. Praise GOD!
