Girl Gives Garbage Man Cupcake Every Week Until Dad Follows Him And Sees Why
The garbage truck made its way through their neighborhood every Thursday and stopped at one particular townhouse. The driver would get out of his truck and stand on the side of the street, waiting. But what on earth could he be waiting for?
She watched as three-year-old Brooklyn Andracke approached the man. She wondered what was going on. She quickly got her phone from her bag and started recording the incident.

Very true! Kids are very matter of fact about differences in skin tone. It's like "I have blue shoes and you have red shoes. I have black hair and you have red hair.". None of that is important when making friends.

One of my favorite memories is taking my kids and day care kids to the zoo. It was a very hot day and the fountains were on. There were kids from all ethnic and social backgrounds playing in the water, hugging each other, and making new friends. The Korean preschool teacher standing next to me said "Wouldn't it be wonderful if the whole world was like that?". Amen!

As an electrician who makes house calls every day, the simple gesture of someone offering us a cup of coffee or a snack is so appreciated, especially around 2pm when we all have that late afternoon crash. @@Xenapoopoohead yup! Just recently at a Dionne Warwick concert in which she talked about where we are in this world full of such hate etc,& how what can be done to make it better, so yeah we clapped and her basic reply was something like, "yeah, I know you do", I mean the truth of course we're going clap, cheer, whistle, then she continued, "though what are you going to do about it?" so she gave again just basic paraphrasing, "talk, have small conversations, and really listen to one another." The message that parents from Sandy Hook and the many many others and families say, praying and the whole bit, doesn't stop the mess we are in. I donated to Sandy Hook just recently & they asked "why are you donating" which was optional and my answer is, I'M tired of MYSELF of being angry, sad though not putting those emotions into some kind of action..a love one of mine ever being close to the shootings or worse..I'd want the world to stop and help with a solution. WE THE PEOPLE have the control and WE are in the majority of a lot power & we have more in common then not, we have the love of our families, friends etc. I go on these long not rants, just communicating that we put into action our outrage and empathy for our everyday people, who live next door or across the globe. ~hugs to you and your love ones ~ 💕🌍 ❤‍🩹we share this planet and we can learn it is "OURS" 💜

I was an Administrative Assistant with a 2-year Associates degree. My Boss thought she was special because she had a Masters and a Bachelors degree & she'd often brag about it, but I knew it was intentional to get on my case. I regret before leaving not asking her... did all your degrees make you a better person? I THINK NOT! She badmouthed some of her other employees behind their back (so I have no doubt she did the same about me) she acted as if she was high & mighty and even took credit for something I did. Yeah, all the degrees she had did NOT make her a better person, nor smarter, just more informative in what they studied. I'm just saying this because I'm sure you get that attitude, but it's not just housekeepers. Some people just have that high and mighty attitude toward anyone below them... be it income, status, education, or whatever.

I'm a retired, registered nurse of 33 years. I want to apologize to you for the times you were treated badly. All people who work in the hospital are important. It takes each one of us working as a team in order to take good care of our patients. Please don't think it was because of your job title that you were treated badly. Even as a registered nurse there were many times I was treated badly by physicians and fellow employees. Some people are not nice people, ever. Other times people have problems going on at home and bring that to work with them or just having a bad day. Regardless of the reasons, it's not acceptable to treat each other badly; we all need to treat each other better and with respect.

In my days driving a delivery truck I had a boy in one of my regular neighborhoods that also got such a huge joy when I returned his wave with a couple of short blasts of the air horn. His dad waved me over one day, so his son could meet me. Can't tell you how great that feels, doing your same mundane job every day, and you find out you're some little fellas's hero and he has to meet you. Delvar the garbage man is one great guy, you can just tell, but he got the same thrill or more from this, guaranteed. 👍

I moved to a golf course community and rarely leave trash because they are so rough on my trash bin I'm always repairing it I trying to be nice by giving them bill taped to the receptor for the holidays but they are still rough and sometimes forget to empty it. I work in recycling and it's amazing how many little kids absolutely adore us. It's the cutest thing ever, and we get hand-delivered goodies all the time... there are usually a couple treats/drinks for us every day. Sometimes I'll let them jump in and beep the horn or even pull the levers to compact the cardboard. Sometimes the shy ones just stand in the window and they don't think we notice them until we honk and wave at them zooming off and the expressions that we acknowledged them are priceless...so humbling. I love it.

I feel that one of the worse changes I’ve seen in this generation is how early on kids seem to start losing this innocence. It’s really sad to me. As a tutor who works with kindergarten and elementary school children, I’ve been able to see this innocence in several of the children I’ve worked with. I’ve also been blessed enough to witness several of these children as they entered their teen years and high school. From my experience, I’ve found that the children who retained their innocence the longest and who weren’t forced to “grow up” too soon ended up becoming some of the brightest, kindest, and empathetic teens I’ve known.

@@oncementored greater danger from what? Apparently you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem. Only someone with a closed mind would see danger in this video. This beautiful young child who was raised to judge people by their character not by the color of their skin or their occupation and this young man whether you want to call him a sanitation worker or just a garbage man grew up with the same values. As my mother used to say if you can't say nothing nice then don't say nothing at all keep your paranoia to yourself.

@@pamelachandler9610 the world needs more stories like this. It gets so depressing to turn on the 6:00 news and the first two segments is about someone either being killed murdered robbed or raped and of course there's a war going on and people getting shot and killed just because they were born with them different color skin. How refreshing would it be to lead the 6:00 news with the story like this.

What a beautiful story! People always talk about horrible the world is but that isn't true there's folks like these beautiful people to show us light. Trash people are some of the most important people we have working. Don't believe me? spend a month without trash pickup. And little girls are Hope! Both are angels wrapped in human body forms. And to this we salute you! Rock on Delvar! Rock on Mom! And baby girl I am grateful to see you shine!!
