As long as both parties are able and old enough to consent, age does not matter. If you really have a loving relationship and treat each other well, that’s the most important part.

In Chinese traditionel society, it does. Many parents and relatives are still traditional, and when you marry with a Chinese, you marry their family. If the family don't approve you, there will be no marriage usually. Chinese parents with traditional viewa want their sons to marry to young, fair-skinned, skinny, beautiful, healthy, wealthy (so not poor) girls. They let girls to marry the older guys, but not vica versa.

This happens more in rich families I suppose like they see all the factors and you know one need to meet their level. I'd say it matters. 1-12 years difference is very acceptable and common atleast here in south east Asia, however beyond that is quite controversial.

When it's comes to a normal relationship, break ups are very normal and I wouldn't care. But marriage is not just about love it's also about compatibility and commitment. So I would need some reassurance by getting to know them better.

My parents have an age gap of ten years and have been married for over 20 years and they are perfectly happy. This was heartwarming to watch. And I wholeheartedly agree. My friends are usually several years younger, or older than me. Only a few are close to my age. The age difference, whether at work or in a personal relationship, can actually make the relationship stronger. The older person has usually developed understanding and patience and have learned how to treat their partner with equal respect and consideration. It’s beautiful that some random nearby will help to make this kind of mom understand what a relationship is , like for me i think not all people will step inside someone’s private matters like this even tho it’s a good thing to give advice, so cheers to the one that have good way of thinking and on top of that is “Courage” bcs from what i know , if things like this happens in my country, the “mom” will either glares at you or yells at you and say mind your own business 😪

I think 5 years of difference doesn't matter at all. The only things the couple need to do is to spend their time ensure their parent about the relationship. You can do it! Please don't do elopement or something like that. But in the other side, I also heard couple that have 20-30 or even more age difference. Hmmm I may have difference opinion about that, I am sorry 🤣🤣🤣
