Maya had a good point when she said "My voice is still my voice". It is true. Like Maya is still Maya no matter how much she changes. The fact they are saying she's Riley because of everything...I get that Maya was changing completely, but i honestly think that if she got good grades either way and dress differently, without a persona change, they would still accuse her of being Riley. And also, the way Riley said how she hasn't been in detention or stand on desks is kind of weird. Like it's high school. It's where we need to mature.

I think this whole plot of Maya becoming Riley was a dumb way to segway into Rucas. But I still like the idea of losing your identity somehow.

Maya wasn't becoming Riley in fact she was going thru many many changes in order to find herself one of them included acting in Riley-ish ways. Detention and bad grades never defined her but the art and her deep emotions did she just could not express them even no one was listening to her. I get that Riley is trying to help her and she is as shocked but she can't define her as someone who lives for being a rebel no one is defined by that it's a phase

Tell me how you would feel if you had a best friend that in one day dresses like you had the same haircut as you acted like you and even took the guy she knew you liked and saying that she likes him even tho she doesn’t actually(if you’ve watch all the episodes you will understand that maya doesn’t actually likes Lucas she just wanted to know how Riley felt but she likes josh) so don’t hate on either Riley or maya there best friends they know each other since kindergarten. Riley knows maya and this is why she’s scared of how she’s acting now.

She's tryna convince Maya that she has her own identity and that she has to maintain it without completely changing herself into someone who she's not! But u guys just love judging Riley don't ya? Guys, realise that this isn't some sort of change in attitude that happened to Maya. She changed her entire personality to match Riley. The real Maya wouldn't like Lucas herself, she'd be helping Riley get together with Lucas like on the first episode and Girl Meets First Date (if i'm not wrong) when she purposely let go of Riley's hand so Riley would be flung into Lucas' lap. What Riley's trying to do is to get Maya's true personality back. A switch in attitude and a switch in personality are two different things. Attitude is like a small branch that can enter or leave a person, anyone can have an attitude change but you can tell they still act like who they usually are. One can suddenly have an attitude in learning, but it doesn't change their fashion style. However, a personality change runs a lot deeper. It's throwing away everything that made you who you are, like your tastes in food, your fashion style, your thinking. A personality change makes you act like a completely different person. It changes you enough that when someone looks at you, they see another person inside.

We all know the writers destroyed Maya’s development to solve that triangle thing. It felt so forced anyways.
