i listened to it all day... it doesn't only speak about being in love with a girl. To me it's about biased (good and bad) expectations of what a sapphic relationship/love should be like and how it hurts when it ends because u feel u both invented a whole world that ended. btw I also loved the reference to Portrait de la jeune fille en feu ;)

Yeah the media often portrays sapphic relationship as pure and free of problems when in fact, sapphic relationships can be just as messy and fcked up as straight and gay relationships.

@@dresdenvisage ⁠personally I would say it’s worth it. I can also confirm that nothing hurts like a girl but also IT’S SO SO WORTH IT. That said, please prioritize safety in dating, and good communication is always a must for any good relationship-but seriously in my experience, it’s not as scary as you might think. Don’t put pressure on yourself to get over your fear if you’re not ready, but also remember to not just think about worst case scenarios-remind yourself that something amazing might happen too, and that the best case scenario might be well worth the process. Take things at your own pace and set boundaries that make you comfortable, and if you meet someone who respects those boundaries and wants to learn who you are, then falling in love with a woman can be absolutely ✨magical✨ and so worth it.

@@the-aphelion-archives Thank you so much! I have good news. I've been seeing a "girl" (or at least a fellow afab nonbinary person) for a few months. Physically, things are moving slowly. But she is lovely, respects my boundaries, and communicates well. She's a late bloomer with same sex relationships too, and is understanding about my fears and insecurities. We're both poly, and this evening, my partner will meet her and her other partner. I don't expect it to be anything but fun. And I think I'll be able to overcome the fear of the physical soon. 🥰

I’m so sorry that happened in your life. A few months ago me and my ex-girlfriend broke up, and our story was really similar-we fell in love while we were best friends, and we dated for about a year, but we both had really bad anxiety disorders and eventually I think it got to the point where we couldn’t keep going together anymore. So I relate really deeply to your comment. It’s such a painful thing to go through a breakup with someone you’re in love with. I don’t know how your life has changed since you originally wrote this comment, but I am sending you love through the aether-I hope you are compassionate to yourself for the pain and difficulty you’ve had to face inside your own mind, and I hope you don’t give up on yourself and continue moving toward peace and healing. And for what it’s worth, I hope this person you love is still in your life-but most of all, I hope you can love yourself too, because you deserve to. 💜

This makes me feel so much. Not only because it’s so painfully and magically true but also because I feel like this video portrays something so real. Not all the angles are traditionally considered good or beautiful but they show something so pure and realistic and all the emotions that come trough could fill an entire movie but somehow all fit into this short of a video. When I tell you I’m literally obsessed. This is a masterpiece and I love it!
