When Maya said to Lucas that they should be together forever his face changed obviously he wanted to choose Riley but he couldn’t say anything to Maya because she had feelings for him and he didn’t want to hurt her and he always would get jealous when Riley dated Charles.

Lucas and Maya LIKED each other, but never LOVED each other the way Lucas and Riley did. That's the difference. There's also the fact that Maya represents what Lucas has been trying to get away from, while Riley represents what Lucas would like to become. I do wonder if part of what was going on was that TEXAS Lucas WOULD have preferred Maya, while NEW YORK Lucas prefers Riley (which, again, gets back to who Lucas used to be vs. who Lucas is now, and would like to continue to become).

I now finally realized that when he was getting excited when maya said we all know only one makes your heart clippity cloppity he was excited because he thought she was letting him go so he wouldn't have to hurt her and would be able to choose riley who was probably always his number one choice

Or just not a sweet boy, but a mature man. Both types are good ones, just she needs someone who can handle her. Lucas was nice but their relationship didn't seem honest because he was trying not to hurt her about everything, there was too much difference. Some times couples learn how to make this difference work and some do not. I think this is where the writters wanted to go with all this script.

Everyone says that Maya wasn’t herself and that she poured the smoothie over his head because it was kinda part of her to see if he’s a good guy for Riley. But hear me out. In their date Lucas told her about the Baby horse birth. We know that worked with Riley. But Maya poured the smoothie over his head, which is a typical Maya move, because she isn’t Riley, that story only works on Riley and not Maya. Maya needs something different and that whole scene shows that at this moment Maya was still Maya

Everyone keeps saying Lucas picked Riley, but he didn't ONCE AGAIN someone chose for him. Maya told him to go to Riley, and when he did finally chose who he wanted we didn't get to hear who it was. I don't know why the writers won't let Lucas to make the hard decision between choosing Maya or Riley I think their so fixated on Lucas being such a nice guy that they don't mind making him a coward, which is kind of sad.

okay what I think is that there might have been some feelings between them but they weren't as strong as what Lucas and Riley had. And if you think about it they wouldn't last that long together, because they each need different things that the other can't provide. Riley will keep Lucas in check and help him be the person he wants to be, while Josh can give Maya the support and confirmation she needs. Also through out the series Josh has been ideal when it comes to dealing with Maya while Lucas just brushes off anything she does or argues with her.

maya did actually like lucas but they wouldn’t have worked out. lucas and riley were gonna work out in the end. at the campfire, maya and lucas argued about different things they would want in a relationship. the ship would’ve sailed, and then it would’ve been a disaster.

Maya told Lucas that if he cared about her, to go find Riley, and tell her he loved her. He never did explicitly tell her that. I don't think he NEEDED to explicitly say it, but apparently, some people do think that. But Maya told him that if he cared about HER, he should go and find Riley, and tell her he loved her. So if you believe that his failure to do so explicitly means he DOESN'T love Riley, then you ALSO have to believe that it means he doesn't care about MAYA EITHER.

You want to know what gives me the most Lucaya hope with this scene? Maya told Lucas that if he CARED about MAYA, he would choose Riley (and tell her he loves her). He also told Maya's mom he cares about Maya. I think he may have chose her first but Maya told him to pick Riley (when they were at the Bay Window covered in paint-- can't remember the episode), so then she told him if he cares about Maya to pick Riley. So what does he do? He picks Rikey... Because he CARES for Maya. He cares so much that he totally ignores Maya's request to tell Riley he loves her and is even taken back by it. I hope this made sense, but to me it does. Lucaya is end game. He loves Maya.

Although Lucas was probably going to choose Riley from the start... Here's something you might have missed. Although Lucas likes both girls MAYA said "if you really care about me you'll go find Riley and tell her you love her." So my question is what if he only did it bc Maya pushed him bc HE DOES CARE FOR HER DEEPER? WHAT IF HE HUGGED MAYA AND SAID THANK YOU AND "ACTED" LIKE HE LIKED/CHOSE RILEY TO HIDE HIS DISAPPOINTMENT THAT MAYA PUSHED HIM AWAY

Well deeper, but the thing is them two endeavouring just friends is perfect in the meets world universe I remember a episode where Jack and Erick liked the same girl, while she would become Jacks girlfriend they wouldnt last. Lucas would at the end of girl meets world tell Riley she would always be his first girlfriend right again thats what it is so the arrogance regarding the Rucas thing should be done for right. Its the ones that are friends that last thats why Riley was so terrified about them not talking to her. Lucas won't let Riley be just friends like the girl would be with Eric thats probably why I don't know Cory hated him at first

This scene just showed what a good friend Maya is. She pushed her feelings away for Riley and accully for Lucas too. Idc what do yall say Lucaya had so much more chemistry and storyline and matureness. Showed how people can be so differnet but still fall in love. With Riley it was always so easy. The thing about this episode and the scene, too is it was insightful. They have grand care and concern for one another any love with them would always be genuine to me, especially since they wouldn't wind up together

Its got to be tough to do all while being so chillaxed. I weren't a hardcore lucaya shipper I really hope these two do have lots of time in the future. We will always know Lucas cares about maya a lot

I personally think it's very likely that Lucas ended up with Riley not because the push from Maya made him realise that he actually liked her the most, but because he didn't have to make a choice. I might be completely overanalyzing and overdissecting it, but hear me out. He couldn't make a choice between the two, because he didnt want to hurt either of them. He cared about them a lot, and their friendship meant a lot to him. Eventually he made his choice, but we didn't found out what that choice was. To me, it seemed like he had decided to pick Maya, because I remember him being sad/confused/taken aback when Maya basically made a choice for him. From that point on a path was made for him, and all he had to do was follow it. Lucas, being the nice guy that he is, respected her wishes and I believe from that point forward he could no longer see himself ending up with her. When Maya told him that only one of the made his heart dance, so to speak, he eagerly agreed with her. By this point, he has clearly chosen Riley and is happy that Maya doesn't have a problem with it. But then, Maya drops the bomb that she's the one, and his mind malfunctions. Because he has chosen Riley, and because Maya made him choose Riley and practically made it clear to him that she would back off. I don't know whether he still has the same feelings for her, but he has stopped seeing her as an option. Everything led him to Riley, and he doesn't want to change the path that he thinks he should follow. In conclusion, I believe Lucas ended up with Riley because Maya removed herself as an option in his head(even if it wasn't that obvious). Is it possible that by the end he likes Riley more than Maya? Absolutely. But I don't think that would be a possibility if Maya back then hadn't taken a step back. So, yes, I believe that Rucas became a couple because Lucas didn't have to make a choice. If he was allowed to make a choice back then, I believe that Lucaya would be the end couple. P.S. I would like to say that this is one of the two analysis I've once made after the end of the series, the other one being the exact opposite. I'm not that big of a fan of ships, but I do enjoy analyzing and discussing them. In this case, I just think it's more intresting to look at Lucas' and Maya's relationship, because most fans agree that he chose Riley in the end. Something with which I agree, but I find an intresting topic for discussion nonetheless.

Lucas didn't pick, Maya picked for him and he followed up on it. I dont believe in Lucas and Rylie because they are the same person, same personality, and does same action. Maya and Lucas I will still fight till this day that they belong together. Lucas and Maya are the people that have been through a lot and still knows how protect theirselves and others. I never ship them, but that "Maya become Riley and Shawn become Cory" storyline is really stupid. I mean, just because you change your hair and the way you dress doesn't make you a different person. Take farkle for example, he may not wear turtleneck anymore and wear black everyday but he's still a nerd except that he's more mature and wise. I think the writer doesn't know how to solve the triangle so they just made things up. In real life, one of the girls will be hurt and they may not be friends anymore. And this isn't a supernatural show where a person can become someone else. And they already know Lucas since season 1 and he's a good person, so why did they made Maya become riley to make sure he's a good one for her? Honestly, season 2 is so much better than season 3. The only good thing about season 3 is the triangle finally over (Sorry for my bad grammar)

I never liked the whole love triangle thing. It was a rlly dumb way to get drama. What would have been better in my opinion is if they would’ve gone the route that they went with Josh being Riley’s other possible interest but ya know with Lucas. We rarely make our first or second romantic interest into our forever person (or until divorce person).

Why lucaya is endgame and rucas(grossest ship name ever) 1. They meet first look at the first episode maya noticed lucas and when she came over his smile was so bog you cant deny that 2.When riley feel for lucas is cause she thought he ws cute but maya liked him because he was a good guy 3. In girl meets texas it was just the little push they needed to fall in love tell me if you meet someone can you say I love him when you first meet the person no, maya and lucas's feelings progressed in the second season if he didn't like maya then why did he say she looks good you could say a he said that as a friend but no cause Zay is a friend but he never compliments maya. 4. When riley feel on lucas's lap she was ACTING LIKE MAYA, and if it weren't for maya they would have never "feel in love" yes I know they are in the same class but it wouldn't be the same. 5. If lucas likes riley then why does he call riley pretty and maya beautiful 6. When RILEY kissed lucas, lucas didn't kiss back it was like in boy meets world when lauren kissed cory (foreshadow), but when he almost kissed maya (they actually kissed Disney cut it out because it was to passionate) he chose to do that but have you seen lucas kiss riley I DONT THINK SO. Also he didn't want to tell riley cause he didn't want to hurt maya and riley's relationship cause he carse about them 7. In girl meets riley toown if he loved riley how come he doesn't see anything wrong unlike maya (look at number 8) he knew cause he loves her 11. In girl meets new year the reason why he got jealous by charlie is cause he is cause he got annoyed of course charlie is an annoying guy. 12. Another foreshadow in girl meets Texas maya was wearing the same necklace as topanga wore when she told riley it was when cory feel in love with her 13. In girl meets creativity he told maya he wants her to be happy and did you see how they looked at each other even zay noticed and lucas never said to riley he wanted her to be happy 14. In girl meets texas he lost the sheep(riley) but won the bull(maya) 15. Lucas was the only one who made maya pray even her best friend riley couldn't do it 16.The secret of life is hat people change people maya NEVER became riley she just grew up maya became a better person because of who influenced her lets look at lucas he was just like maya before he moved to new York then people influenced him for yhe better so LUCAS LIKED MAYA FOR WHO SHE WAS SHE WAS NEVER RILEY Bonus riley and lucas broke up in the last episode cause they tought riley was going to move and we never so them get back together. Also I think lucas chose maya over riley then in the ski lodge he realized maya still liked josh and he saw how happy she was with josh so maybe hechoose riley because he doesn't want maya wishing what her life would be with josh and he didn't want maya and riley's relationship to get hurt and about the jellybean we dont know if he had a yellow one in his other pocket do we? This is why I believe maya and lucas are end game no matter what anyone one says and if you will say otherwise try to make a longer paragraph, use evidence from the show and find some foreshadowing or parallels from BMW LUCAYA FOREVER 💗

When Riley said to Lucas in GMT that Maya liked him, the first things he says is: "Riley, what are we?". When he and Maya _almost_ (yes, _almost,_ stop making a big deal about it.) kissed, the first thing he thinks is: "Please, don't tell my sister." (Riley). Why would he care about it if he liked Maya? (PS: because he liked Riley more.). In the "Ski Lodge" episode (part 1), Maya says to Lucas that he liked her for breaking the rules, and he denies, in a _very_ serious tone. You know who follows the rules? Riley. The reason why he and Maya got together in Girl Meets Texas, was because Riley _forced_ him to, and also made him believe that she only likes him as a brother. Like he said, it was always Riley, since the beggining.
