Ah this is my favourite performance by them. Such great staging and vocals. Everything just hit! It amazed me how they got better and better over time.

Such an iconic performance, so camp! I actually wouldn’t react to the Royal Variety Performance until you reach the “Ten”/Reunion era as there were only 2 singles on that album as it was a greatest hits and a lot of their performances were throwbacks! But yes Nicola ate it up and this was the beginning of Nicola slowly taking over Nadine as the strongest vocalist in Girls Aloud!

You need to make sure when you come to Untouchable that you do not go for the music video Edit, it’s over processed. The live version from Dancing on Ice or their tour is unbelievable vocal from Nicola ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nicola has an AMAZING voice live, in the last tours and her solos live you hear it. She has the best voice out of them all live probably.

After Nicolas solo verse she carries on with nadine so basically its a duo verse.....on every live performance its a duo verse but they always have the spotlight on Nadine. on the duo verse Cheryl comes into "One good luck in our glittered eyes" yes Nicola was finding her range and voice......the girl was 23 here xx

I would love to know what you think of The Saturdays. Similar group, not as successful album sales wise, massive singles though. Same label as Girls Aloud. They were seen as their natural successors. Vanessa is a vocal beast.

Nobody mentioning the fact that Nadine carried these girls on her back for 8 years it was about time they turned someone else’s mic up let her rest chile! I feel like royal variety is the most lacking of the 3. They had only just reformed after a long break and the chemistry had deffo not clicked back into place fully by then because the girls still weren’t all on good terms.

I agree on the Variety Show, there solo vocals were very good but harmonies weren't, also Nadine end belt "Nothing i can't Dooooo!" completes the song but without i felt it missed the magic.. on her back......i watched posters the rivals as a kid and Nicola was always my fav......i used to get so pissed at her vocals years later in the band, she would basically whisper. i would blame Nadine for taking the lead but good on her she did the work. Nicola just didn't come into herself i guess. felt like a blessing when she blossomed.
