Now let's even be generous and state that the entire pay discrepancy is down to negotiation (there are studies which show that men do better in wage negotiations.) How does that affect anything? There is a system that is unfairly balanced towards men currently in place, there is a reason sexism is referred to as systemic. Why not have pay raises be based off of performance reviews in order to makes sure that everyone has an equally fair chance at an equal wage? On top of that the fact that the rest of the wage gap is "explained" that doesn't mean that the explanations can not still be attributed towards gender equality. It's true men generally take technology related careers as opposed to women but technology has therefore become incredibly male dominated as a field and therefore technology related workplaces can often be toxic and unwelcoming. There has also not, until very recently, been much of a push to get women in tech related jobs because it was seen as a man's profession. Men are also disproportionately represented in managerial roles. There are numerous studies which suggest that in conversation men tend to dominate making it very difficult for women to get into managerial roles as they have been taught to not take a dominant role. Women are often seen to have taken a higher role in conversation than they actually have. Men also tend to interrupt women more than women interrupt men and generally in a group with men and women on average women will talk less. There are of course ways to change these systems to make them more fair towards women but to argue that the gender wage gap is not at all because of sexism (or at least that the system was designed in a way that benefits men) seems to me to not be in line with the literature.

Also, the idea that the pay gap exists because women are feminists is almost farcical and I hope is a joke. If you spent less time complaining about feminists maybe you would make more money. That argument makes no sense of course your choice to complain about something you feel strongly about won't severely impact your life to the point of making less money. The idea that negotiating your own pay makes you more motivated to work harder than performance reviews also isn't true. Putting on a face in the boardroom is a lot different than working hard to get pay as you know you will get a performance review. I also believe that performance review based raises should be required of companies. The "free country" defence also doesn't work, if one system is less gender biased and not many downsides why should that not be implemented?

You only have to look at statistics to prove that not watch a poor sitcom where a man just repeats the word "Bazinga" until everyone is fed up. That is my main issue with feminist debate currently, it's too easy to dismiss someone as sexist and therefore not have a proper discussion. Technology is male dominated and often don't have systems in place to accommodate for women and therefore many women do not that the field is very welcoming for them. There are many women in the tech industry who experience sexism every day. Bear in mind that we have the luxury of survivor bias so it's very easy to say that sexism doesn't exist in a field because we don't experience it.
