My countertop review of a Girsan made Yavuz 16 9x19mm handgun, sold in the USA as a “Bora Light.” I bought this one sale May 2021 from CDNN sight unseen, so we’re getting to know it together in this video. I haven’t seen any other reviews in English, so maybe this will be of help to others in the US who are considering this high quality mutation of a Girsan Regard… or, more precisely, a Beretta 92 series.

Btw, CDNN site does say it take Beretta mags but we tried them at the shop and no-go. 2 OEM and 1 generic. OEMs fit ok, but wouldn’t actuate the slide stop. Generic wouldn’t lock. YMMV.

@@OhioCruffler i have no idea. The comments were great and insightful- you must have said something the tube didn’t like. I don’t recall you even hinting at selling something or how to make anything though. Wasn’t me, that’s for certain

i love the metal to metal sound,it sounds like glass which means good quality.

Confusing review. Are we doing a Bora or a Beretta clone?. To much going back and forth. I'm interested in the Bora Light not a Beretta. Lots of gun manufacturing companies clone but the Bora doesn't look like anything ive ever seen. It's a sexy gun with plenty of capacity which is a big sell since your looking at 37 rounds if you carry an extra mag. Awesome. Would have really liked a weight on this weapon. Looks like a quality piece but I'm really interested in accuracy. Overall an informative review but to much time spent comparing weapons.

@@tafino I've watched your review again and it's the most informative review out there. I see that these pistols are pretty much exactly the same internally. Small variations in frame and slide design. I've always loved the Beretta 92 and that is probably what is see in the Bora not knowing it at first. It kind of reminds me of my Ruger p94 only not as rounded off. Great review

It's a very nice pistol. Trigger is as good as a Beretta; with a little break-in and new spring is better than most. It is odd looking, though.

Part of the reason this is a confusing review is because you refer to one as a Girsan rather than "Regard" and the other as a "Bora Light." Obviously they're both made by the same manufacturer but it makes it sound like you possibly have two different manufacturers in front of you.

So I bought one of these and I thought I was buying a Bora light however mine says Bora only. I've seen this gun in several videos now and some say light and some do not on the slide. So I'm assuming that I got the all steel version, correct me if I'm wrong. Does anyone have the weight and slide length on both of these pistols. I'm assuming that the light is the aluminum frame and shorter than the Bora. This is a very nice pistol and fills your hand well it seems heavy but I've been carrying a P938 and a G3C regularly so it would but it overloads my scale so I can't get a weight on it. Lol. So I did the magnet test and the frame is aluminum so I'm guessing the slides are the same only some are marked light. No matter it's a hell of a gun and I'm glad to add it to my collection.

Picked one up this week. Plan on range time this week end. When you take to range can you try the 92 mags to see if they actually work in this pistol? Much appreciated.

My Beretta 92 holster from Concealment Express works. Most 92 holsters don't due to slide width.

@OhioCruffler tried a Galco leather Beretta 92 holster and it doesn’t work. Slide geometry doesn’t align with Beretta form, and even forcing it in doesn’t allow the thumb clasp to close
