Giuli Chokheli - I'll Come By.
Although jazz was not really encouraged by Soviet authorities, music of Giuli Chokheli still managed to touch millions of hearts. First accompanied by Tbilisi State Variety Orchestra "Rero" and then by her husband, Boris Richkov and jazz-band "Changi", she was one of the foremost Soviet jazz-singers for more than 35 years.
Although she made many recordings, her discography is quite confusing, definitely not aided by absence of official Melodya catalogs. So this compilation named "Es Iyo Sizmari" (Georgian for "It Was A Dream"), the CD that focuses mostly on her Georgian-language material, does a great job at unearthing some of her rarest material - in fact, some of these songs find their first release on this disc.
This is a jazz standard composed by George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin and Gus Kahn in 1929.
