Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Cliff great patience and self control!! For the first guy i feel that he was always looking outward. You clearly told him about Jesus and it still hadnt drawn him near. I think it wouldve been helpful for him to actually "EXPERIENCE" his need for Jesus. Take him through the 10 commandments so that he can see his need for a savior. The law shows us our sinfulness and need for Christ. He doesnt see or feel his need for Jesus.

Cliffe I think you were totally missing this young man's point. He did say he was agnostic but he obviously made it very clear that he is in a struggle to find truth. That is such a good thing to hear from especially a young person. He was asking you what is the real reason you believe he said your typical arguments were not convincing him. He was looking for the cause if your conviction. This was a moment you should of relied heavily on scripture based evidence and not just logical argumentation.

I disagree as well spoken as the young man was it seems to me that he was trying to push his inability to find truth on Cliff I think Cliff explain it as best as he could his journey is his own and he clearly didn't find what he was looking for with Buddhism.

@@levimalone4433 I also disagree. I think Cliffe showed a great example of getting to the root of the problem, which was the young student seemed to be searching for an "umph", a gut feeling, as an indication of knowing with 100% certainty something is true. Cliffe explained that 1) it's not possible to have 100% certainty in anything, hence why we follow where the evidence points to. But the student brushed that to the side; 2) feelings can be deceptive and don't always tell you the truth about reality. I understand how the student feels as I came from a place before putting my faith in Christ that I've got to feel something first before I can put my faith in Christ. So I'd go on, seeking for the feeling rather than Jesus Christ Himself. But by the grace of God I was brought low and realised my need for Christ, and it was then I was surprised by joy when God showed His love and mercy on me a sinner, deserving of His wrath and justice. He showed me that He delights in being in relationship with us despite us turning away from Him, and it is in Him where all goodness comes from, including the good feeling I perhaps was searching for. Now I don't know the student enough to say much, but it's clear that feelings are most important to him when it comes to knowing the truth. But to stare at the hard historical facts about Jesus's and humble yourself before them may not necessarily give you that positive feeling - at least I don't know anyone who has been excited about humbling themselves before Jesus before coming to know Him. But we have to start with what the evidence points to no matter how we feel and work through the hard details, and by God's grace we will find the satisfaction of knowing the truth as the "Truth shall set you free".

The only issue with Cliffe's argument is that he kept asserting that the interviewee wasn't totally agnostic and that he couldn't live out that agnosticism completely. This is true, however the interviewee wasn't fully agnostic and was aware of that fact, his main doubt was that he couldn't understand how Christians know god (i.e. how christians hold the belief that Yahweh/Christ is real with such absolute certainty). The answer is simply. Through reading and understanding the Jewish text/gospels and N.T. gospels. Faith is also another topic worth touching on to discuss the issue, as belief in anyone/thing, takes faith and faith is supported by experiential knowledge and intellectual knowledge. I'd go on but I'd rather see/hear more from more educated people than to keep typing........ I wish there was an extended version of this show, these discussions must go on for longer than 23 - 25 minutes, I would've loved to have seen the conclusion of the talk.

Cliff said Christian World view is most reliable because of 4 things: -What Jesus taught -How Jesus lived what he taught -How he died forgiving his enemies -Resurrection Dude compared Jesus with Buddah and other good ethical teachers by saying: -they taught good -they lived good -they died good No resurrection power. He totally glossed over it, because he knows that it is the one thing that actually separates Jesus from the rest and if acknowledges it he has no option but to stop agnosticism.

That in itself is wrong. For somebody to walk up to a believer and say “show me a sign” is blasphemous, offensive and on their part VERY dangerous. You don’t challenge God to prove Himself, but instead humble yourself to experience Him… that guy who calls himself agnostic was ignorant and prideful. To say he doesn’t want to believe in God but wants to see proof of Him is highly offensive to God the Creator. Both are wrong but the truck driver is a user not a provider... ie someone addicted to drugs or an occasional user vs someone who goes out of their way to find people who have an addiction and take an advantage of it and sell it and provide it. This difference is why drug dealers go to jail most of the time and not so much the users. The woman selling herself is not comparable at all to a truck driver who uses brothels. He needs help... Cliffe is amazing but I don't see how he doesn't see the issue with this argument. There is nothing observable, testable, or repeatable in the claims of evolution for the origin of life. What basis of value do human beings have if they have an unintelligent undirected process for their origin? The logical conclusions of the rationality of your worldview is a valueless world if what we came from is nothing. I think it would be a great idea Olia. I can see lots of advantages, and hardly any downsides. And for a skeptic like me, it would almost certainly convince me of God. I don't see much proof of God in my life, so having Superman turn up occasionally, flying down from the sky to prevent disasters would be amazing. Imagine if those terrorists who flew those planes into the Twin towers were thwarted by Superman, just as they were moments from hitting the building, Superman appears out of the sky, and grabs the plane, and gently lowers it to the ground, then the same for the other plane. Afterwards he could tell everyone, he works for Jesus, then he flies off. Seeing something with your own eyes is much better evidence than hearing it from other people. I have never seen any miraculous occurrences, and I am very very skeptical they happen. Jesus, we are told performed lots of miracles during his adult life ( i wonder if he performed any as a kid?, that would be cool) but we don't have any verifiable solid proof they actually happened. Yes, we have the gospels, but they were written by his supporters, how do we know if they were telling the truth? I'm a skeptic, and I'm not convinced. But, I would be convinced if Superman was flying around defying the laws of gravity saving people.. that would be very convincing to me. Sorry for the gaps, I'm typing this on word pad, and not quite sure how to get the text even, ha, I'm useless with technology :-)
