Give Me An Answer with Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle

5 жыл бұрын

Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

He doesn’t have to tell them their going to hell they know,he’s just throwing their false bologna back at them I clearly understand his way of communication it’s perfect for that crowd, that’s why they come to try to legitimize their false beliefs and they do so because cliffs way of speaking pricks at their wicked conscience, so ya they walk away feeling condemned.And I’ve learned how to sharpen my witnessing skills by hearing cliff for years now and it works.

That young man did ask a good question what happens to the people who didn't get to hear from Christ which is why some people believe in purgatory or other forms of Second Chances and there are not but you're forgetting before the days of Christ when he walk the earth there was other ways of knowing god and God's law God love God's mercy and God's righteousness and so forth and the people that did not know Jesus Christ at that time did still get to know what to choose from and those people dying in God in the way that they did at that time with the options or choices are understanding they had what we Christians called the light what light they had God judges them by that light not by today's standards that's not fair to them otherwise and God is fair and just it's today's standards where if you're alive and you have a chance to know Christ and understand things more fully and you make the wrong choice because you're freely will to do so then that's your chance to do is that simple if you follow Christ and you stick with Christ your saved you go to heaven if you choose not to follow the will of God or Christ and keep his Commandments with love then you don't go to heaven but you don't go to an eternal hell either you are just burnt up and exist no more as if you never existed except a free will choice because you don't want to be with God amen.

@Isaac Rowry I'm well aware of Romans too but I did reread it pretty much in my own you know language for how I speak sometimes if I was to actually talk with you that's exactly what I explained number one we are still under the law in the sense that God loves us and he wrote it in our hearts and if we love him or to keep his Commandments but yes we don't have the stones in front of us the way Moses did and we didn't we're not under the laws of Moses run the laws of God but as I said it's written on our hearts and we're a new creature in Christ and if we choose to follow Christ and we follow Christ if we choose not to fall Christ that is our Free Will choice for the people who did not know Christ yet and didn't have a chance to know him I said they lived by what light they had with God and so forth so that in the Old Testament they were saved and they're also saved unfortunately through the works and say unfortunately because you know obviously that was abused by the people and that's part of the reason for the New Covenant in for the Christ coming on the cross and thank God he did little me child I will be typing my other things by wanted to respond to this I'm not sure if you thought I misunderstood or if you misunderstood what I wrote but I'm in agreement with you and everything you typed okay God bless you.

Don't forget one of the most important ways God reveals himself to those who haven't heard of him (according to scripture) is creation and nature. This is another reason why a belief in theistic evolution is so dangerous. The bible points to nature as an obvious display of an intelligent creator. The obvious instinct when viewing the incredible complexity of nature is an intelligent mind behind it all, not pure random chance.

- The sole that sins, it shall die - if I die the grave is my house - no wisdom in the grave - The dead know not anything. Judgment takes place at a certain time, the first death Christ called a sleep (in the grave till God returns) the second death is forever is leaving not root nor branch. God will judge us from the time we have spent here on earth, not a quick conversation after we die. Satan may want you to believe this so you live a life contrary to God then think you still have an opportunity. Don’t fool yourself

Cliffe asks a great question.."If there is no God, what's stopping me from punching this guy and his stealing back-pack"? .. well, several reasons, regardless of whether there is a God we humans are social creatures, most of us are raised to understand that there are consequences to our actions, our parents teach us from a very early stage not to grab things from other kids.. it's a natural reaction for a 2 year old to grab something it wants.. one of the first words that child will understand is "No" from it's mother. We also learn about empathy for others, eg: how would you like it if someone did that to you? ..it doesn't come naturally to us, it's a learned behavior, any mother will use the "No" word hundreds of times in a childs early life. If we didn't learn this behavior our social structure in life would break down and life would become chaotic if everyone did as they pleased.. every society known to man has worked out that in order for that society to live in relative peace you need rules. No God is required for that.

I don't think you get what Pastor Cliffe is saying. Let me explain to you, "who cares what you say, if there is no God." Who are you? and why should I listen to you? Get it? Your opinions are yours, and keep it to yourself. Also, what you have said is so immature, it's making me laugh. Go tell people not to steal, not to murder, and etc and see if they listen to you. "No God is required for that." by nobody who lives in a fantasy world. A good laugh.

@@warriorforgod5949 What generally happens to people who do wrong?. Society has a system whereby they are caught and sent to prison my friend, can you name me any society in the world where they have no rules and you can rape and murder to your hearts content? Do you really need a supernatural being to explain to you that it's wrong to do those type of things? Did the Christian God tell the Aztecs or Mayan civilizations on the other side of the world that stealing and murder were wrong? These people had their own system of justice for thousands of years before they knew anything about Jesus and the Christian God. I live in the real world as you do my friend. It's called a conscience, and people can choose to act against it and many people do, that is their choice. And yes, children need to learn to do good because they don't have enough knowledge or understanding to make those decisions on their own yet or understand the consequences of their decisions,. Our mind and our conscience and our emotions and our will are so intertwined with each other and all work with each other as one much of the time, just like our body and our soul act as one much of the time.
@bonnie43uk
@bonnie43uk 5 жыл бұрын
@@lsubslimed I agree with a lot of what you've said my friend, our conscience is a kind of moral compass. Is Cliffe one of those Pastors who doesn't preach the tough stuff on a Sunday morning or who waters down the message? I'm not accusing, just asking. He said that Hell is "God's great compliment to the reality of human freedom and the dignity of human choice." I mean that's a very nice way of putting it.....But the Bible says that Hell is God's PUNISHMENT for Guilty Sinners. It's God's WRATH being poured out. It's God's JUSTICE. Instead Cliffe chooses to describe it in terms of human freedom and human choice? There is no need to tickle the ears of the unbeliever like this, Jesus never did.

I agree with you 100% but what you said but these are college kids are either very pampered snowflake driven or truly just ignorant to the truth it's not their fault most of them were brainwashed from Young ages the schools have changed morally that the country is corrupt the world is going down fast and the Bible told us that would happen so Cliff is taking it from a different angle trying to wake them up the truth without scaring them with eternal burning hell no first hell's not to be eternally burning but that's what some people teach but there will be Hell Fire in the Lake of Fire and he does not want to use that to scare people off he wants to wake them up the truth.
@jasie2012
@jasie2012 5 жыл бұрын
I cant see where he watered it down. He wasn't describing what Hell is because at the end of the day know ones really knows 100%, and to push or tell people its fire and Gnashing of teeth etc is a fear based method of winning people over to God. He was saying that we have Choices and what ever choice we pick God has a place for us. Make sure you look at the original writings of the Bible, Hebrew and Greek before the Catholics got hold if it. Because what we read today is not the same as the original. The Catholics loved the fear base method of winning people/money to the church.
@Apologia5
@Apologia5 5 жыл бұрын
@@godislove363 You said that Cliffe is trying to do it in a way where he doesn't scare them or mention eternal burning hell. You said that he wants to wake them up with the truth. A few points on that..... What is wrong if someone is scared? Is that always a bad thing? If I'm walking close to the edge of a cliff with no ropes I will be scared and fearful and that is a good thing, it would lead me to get off the edge. Also, whatever you believe Hell is exactly, can we both agree that it's not a good place? And therefore, people SHOULD be scared of hell. It's a loving thing to warn a person about hell and to say that the Bible says it is. Not to try and redefine it or water it down. Jesus and the apostles didn't do that so why should we? You don't like the turn or burn message? Well what did Jesus say? He told people to Repent (turn) or else they would Perish (burn). Also, some people might be turned away or scared off if we share the truth, but we don't let the unbeliever determine our methodology and approach, we need to look to God and His word.
@Apologia5
@Apologia5 5 жыл бұрын
@@jasie2012 To your second comment. I'm not saying that Cliffe needed to get into the burning and gnashing of teeth aspects of it. But just that his description of Hell was very weak. No mention of punishment, wrath, God's Justice etc. He made it about people's freedom and them choosing? Again, what is wrong with using fear!? We are told all through out the scriptures to fear God. Jesus said to fear God, was He wrong? Of course we are to share the FULL counsel of God, His goodness, Grace, Love etc. But God isn't one dimensional. We can't water down truth because we are concerned of offending others. God isn't one dimensional, anger, hate, wrath, hell are all part of God and His word, lets not change his word to make it more palatable for the unbeliever. We have a choice in our salvation? Nope, God chooses us. Got gets ALL the credit and glory in Salvation, there is nothing that I do, it's all God. Ps. I'm not all about fear and wrath and hell when evangelizing. I'm just saying that those things need to be included along with all of the good stuff. The good news of God is good because the bad news is bad, really bad. We need to be sharing both. Also some people do come to Christ with the more tough stuff and hard truths.
@bonnie43uk

@Apologia5, who gets to say what is sinful and what is not?, I'm sure we can agree that certain things are bad for society, most societies have their own justice system depending on the severity of the crime. That's a fair system, what is not fair is punishing someone for eternity. Hell is an abhorrent concept. How on earth could any caring person enjoy eternity in Heaven knowing that there are people in eternal hell? The Bible isn't clear as to what Hell actually consists of .. it depends how you care to interpret it, and we all interpret things differently because we're all different as human beings.

4:29 "You know that I'm blowing smoke right now". ABSOLUTELY!!! It's called a strawman fallacy. Secular moral systems are FAR superior. They are based upon improving human wellbeing. They are evidence based and they are amendable when more information is available. Religious moral systems are based upon the writings of ancient goat herders. They reject evidence in favour of bigotry. Interpreting these writings gives different conclusions depending upon which denomination you join. Religion doesn't solve ANY of the problems they claim to solve.
