Are you kidding? Flight follower is the worst! Not only does he post old videos, but he often edits them to try to make the pilots look bad when the controllers screw up! He’s so biased against pilots it’s ridiculous. Take this title for instance. It should read “controller can’t handle a suggestion and instead violates regulations.”

@@skydvrboy thanks for your opinion We do post old videos.. its true but we are also very selective about our contents.. we try to make these as unique as possible.. how else can we compete with other aviation channels? We collect the audio clips directly from liveatc.net.. we are on process of negotiating a deal with them for our license This is a serious allegation that we edit our videos to make pilots look bad.. these channel is run by two persons both of us are active fliers so there is no point doing that.. can you refer any specific videos? Again..we will try our best to live upto the expectations of our audience.. again thanks for your opinion.. please feel free to suggest us any new ideas or complaints.. i can assure you.. we will definitely consider those Thanks for watching our videos Regards Flight follower team

I was vectored once by ATC into a near midair collision. The proper response by the pilot is to file a hotline or directly call the center. The problem is the air traffic controllers protect each other. The ATC manager did not follow up with me and I work for the agency. Some rare air traffic controllers are hostile, and fail to enhance safety when communicating. These are people who are in the wrong profession.

Absolutely. In case of raising any complaints it is not the right place. We can always discuss on the ground. Most of Atc controller are fantastic, there are very rare case.

I get saying you don’t have time for flight following but to say you don’t have time for someone asking for a number is ridiculous. He’d certainly give the pilot a number if he did something wrong.

It doesn't seem to me that the controller did anything wrong. The pilot was being a baby because he didn't get exactly what he wanted and then got told, albeit rudely, to quit congesting a busy frequency.

@@gcolbert99it’s unacceptable for the controller to get upset when the pilot is trying to offer a different, likely better, solution to the traffic congestion. Further, the controller is required to provide his number and ID when requested, so he was in violation of the regulations as well. Pilots are not supposed to just blindly follow ATC instructions. They are the pilot in command and ultimately responsible for every move of the aircraft, not ATC. It’s supposed to be a team effort with some give and take. Certainly not a commander and follower relationship!

@@skydvrboyunacceptable is your opinion. He was busy and trying to handle multiple aircraft and the pilot was being argumentative at that point, not helpful. The controller thanked him for his help up to that point and then he immediately and childishly asked for a number. The controller did nothing against regs. I'm not able to find anything in writing saying that a controller must provide an ID when requested but that may be true. Lastly you are required to comply with all ATC instructions unless there is an emergency or it will affect flight safety. If you are unable to comply then you simply reply "unable"

I am not an expert, but it appears that the Canada Air pilot was out of line. Even if he had a legitimate reason to ask for the ID, which did not appear to be the case, the controller clearly signaled that he was unable to provide that at the time. The pilot could have easily stood down and filed a complaint later, rather then to keep insisting on getting what he wanted.

Well exactly the same with all the atc „Possible pilot deviation. I have a number for you to call“ videos. ATC has absolutely no authority to do that. Still US pilots follow the order as if ATC were their boss. ATC could also just file a complaint with the FAA…

@@Flight_Follower Let me try to explain: If someone speaks to us in an inappropriate way, we ask "Geht´s noch?", which means "Everything ok with you?", or simply: "Are you crazy?" 😉

ATC has a hard job. Pilots have a hard job. It's best we not be dicks to one another and give each other the benefit of the doubt. Never anything to gain arguing on frequency. ATC/FAA hold all the cards.

I had an IP (USAF Instructor Pilot) tell me early on to be courteous, humble yet assertive with ATC. If they are busy, don't chit chat, but if they vector you into a bad situation, speak up! This Air Canada pilot was just being a nicehole, which is probably the worst trait a pilot could exhibit. All he had to do was shut up and follow instructions. @@Flight_Follower

Pilot needs to get a life. Spending way too much time soothing his ego rather than concentrating on his passenger's safety. How many tragedies have been caused by distraction? He could have made a call after he landed, just saying.

Pilot has a right to ask for anything. Especially if the instructions given led him into troubles. I bet all my money that if the pilot makes a mistake he will be given an phone number to call ATC and you will never hear from ATC that they have no time, or they will not discuss it further. Especially KSFO where they constantly clearing for visual approaches and quite often, because of poor separation, ATC makes situation ever worse. Rather than given extra 1-2NM seperation ATC sequance aircraft to close hence there are so many go arounds. And if you dare to request ILS or RNP we will be put on hold for a long time. The way they run it there is unheard of anywhere else in the world. Listening and watching VASAviation it looks like big ground or aircraft cash is just a matter of time. Just open flight radar and Live ATC and enjoy KSFO operations.

Pilots have plenty of time to copy a number. Controllers may be busy keeping major accidents from happening. Also yes you can absolutely decline the call if you want to, but it will rarely benefit you since it'll just lead to a report being made about what happened without any of your input

Air canada pilots are the lowest of the low, hate sharing airspace with them. should see them in the terminal, just constantly taking photos of them selfs.

Sounds like bs. I've seen a lot of them and never seen them or any other pilot taking photos of themselves as you suggest. Usually comments like that come from people who are resentful for some reason or another.
