I'd love to see a video some day where Nathan and Lee show off their own personal rigs. I'd love to see what they play and what inspires them.

Nathan's probably inspired by his brother, the great Mark King - most people don't realise but Nathan isn't a primary bassist (he plays guitar for Level 42 at the moment), but obviously being related to such a talent gives him full authority to play like one!

To be honest I'm not impressed especially when I look at the price tag. It feels like every company puts out their pedals.. Do we really need 4 compressor pedals? Nice video though.

I have the Eden WTDI. It has a compressor built in and sound awesome. I think it was $200

Great video & review. Made me laugh on loads of occasions. Those pedals though, are way too expensive, in comparison with what other brands are doing. The triple shot is nice though.

The Velvet compressor sounds quite nice - thanks NK, and it's got a meter (so you can see it doing stuff), but it's not compact size and £299 !!! WTF ? :-/

A pick actually works as it's own compressor, as you dig in the pick flexes and so reduces the volume of the note.

I like the idea of boutique Ashdown pedals as they make fantastic amps, especially something to compliment the CTM amps too and I did enjoy the Dr Green pedals but these are so expensive. The compressors seem basic, the Type 23 is an overpriced EHX Bass Balls. Only one I'd consider is the Triple Shot but there's cheaper pedals out there that do the same.

I guess they made those pedal's twice the size they needed to because bassists use far fewer pedals. Kinda hard to make a video of a couple of compressor pedals that in many cases is set to remain fairly transparent. All that remains is to show the extremes of their use to differentiate them.

I still have ashdown's bass hyperdrive pedal. And it's useless because of its noise and hum. It's the noisiest bass guitar pedal I had ever tried. I bought isolated power supply, but have the same result.

Frankly, all these high tech bass pedals are pointless and useless. When one listens to any song, do you hear any special bass effects at all? No. In fact, in the vast majority of recording, one can hardly hear the bass lines are all. My advice: Just keep the bass tones simple like that of the 1970s.
