Every year I host my annual birthday giveaway series on Instagram. This week long business birthday celebration draws traffic to my page and generates new leads all through the power of giving something away for free. In this video I’m going to walk you through my process and explain how I operate my giveaways and the success I’ve seen in the 6 years I’ve been doing it.

Loved this video! Thanks for all of the helpful tips! Do you give discounts to family & friends? If so, how do you decide what the discount should be & who “qualifies” for it?

That is always a case by case thing for me. There are a lot of people who I am acquaintances with that I could probably give discounts to, but I tend to only offer discounts to those closest to me. And sometimes I get ahead of the game and instead of the awkward conversation about numbers with my best friends and family I will give them a gift certificate for Christmas/baby shower or ask them to model for me for shoot ideas or scouting locations. That is just my personal preference though. I know a lot of photographers who don't offer discounts to family and friends for that very reason. 🤷‍♀

Do you choose one social media platform to share your giveaways or share to multiple? I use both FB and IG.

That one is simple for me because I only have instagram. I also share on my email list but direct them to instagram to enter. You could definitely do both places, or do one giveaway specifically for IG and one for FB!
