He has the scroll (which is the unit patch) but not the tab above it on the pocket flap, so he hasn’t passed ranger school yet. He has been to airborne and air assault school, though, since he has those badges. Junior enlisted can be in the 75th without passing ranger school, but NCOs and officers have to pass ranger school. He’s either working up to going, or went and washed out for one reason or another (quitting isn’t the most common cause, it’s typically either medical or making too many mistakes in technical parts). He’s still a badass, but he doesn’t have the ability to call himself a ranger. Source: former sergeant and paratrooper out of Ft Bragg.

That’s not just an army soldier though, based off his beret and unit patch, he’s a Ranger. He’s waaay above your normal soldier in the army or other branches. That’s awesome. Love his humility by not even mentioning it too!

Just a lot of people in the US that knows someone or has some family in the military it’s kind of a tradition if you’re family served it’s generational…unlike me great grandpa fought in ww1, both my grandpas fought in ww2, uncle and cousin fought in Vietnam, youngest of us (my cousins) fought in Afghanistan….I’m only 23 and I wanna be able to believe in what I’m fighting for and there’s not any wars rn the US is fighting or else I’d be in the military right now. WW3 happens you bet I’m enlisting lol

I'd say SEAL training, but that's just because I have a fear of drowning. I was in the Army for 3yrs as an Abrams Tank Crewman and I was a good shot with my M4. They asked me if I ever would consider sniper school and I said I'd consider it. Never went thru with it though.. looking back on it.. I should have. I wouldn't have half the problems I have, tryna zero in my scope smh

Technically in the US military there is only one special forces. That is the US army green berets. Rangers are special operations. Which falls under a umbrella of units across the military

Yes rangers are bad ass high speed but by definition there's only one special forces and that is directly referring to green berets. In civilian terms everyone who is under SOCOM (special operations command) is referred to as special forces. It's like calling a marine a soldier for example. Just silly mix ups civilians and most military somehow don't know. But nonetheless they are all special operations. The name forces is for the army green berets.
