I feel the same way. I've had my children young and by the time I'm an empty nester I would still have the energy and stamia to hang with the grand kids. Given several diseases I have which slow me down already, I'm glad I had my kids early as the opportunity may have passed me by had I waited.

I think the number of kids you want would also be a factor as running after 3 is different to running after 1. Either way, she's sharing her story and she's happy with her decision. See I think it really just comes down to the person. My aunt just had her kids in her 40's (and she didn't even birth them, her wife did) and her body is wearing down fast. She used to be quite the athlete and then like, 44 hit and she's never been the same. Meanwhile my grandmother had her kids young (20-24 when she gave birth) and was really spry up until cancer took her real fast in her 60's. Then my great grandfather (despite most of the men of the family dying relatively young) is kicking around at 93 still doing all his own yardwork, cooking, cleaning, etc. But my paternal grandfather didn't even make it to 34 (also cancer). I'm always glad to hear of older people staying healthy and spry...but there's a lot of young people who take that longevity for granted and think they are guaranteed to get that 80 sem-odd years lol. Gotta enjoy life while you have it and put less worth on the concept of numbers (I gotta do this by that, or I gotta wait until this) :)

Money was tight on a monthly basis for mom and dad but we made it! The way I see is struggling is part of life rather it’s in a form of having a child at a younger age or struggling physically, emotionally, childhood traumas or with other things in life. Sometimes struggling help us grow stronger mentally. I’m just glad to have kids young, it work out in our circumstances. I want to start my family young and do fun things with them in my 30s and I fulfilled that dream and currently enjoying every part of that decision right now. Not everyone can or desire to do that, I know.

Not trying to slam you with words, but I wanted throw my take in at this gag - 30 really isn't that old. If people were all of a sudden only getting pregnant at 60-70. Then you should be worried (much less see how many of them would actually conceive successfully). 30 is a relatively good age to have kids honestly. Hypothetically speaking at that point in life you've got your life together, stabililty, possibly a degree or two, money, and your body/mind is more prepared. Truthfully, its a wonderful age to raise kids at and probably a lot healthier. People are beginning to live a lot longer so no wonder everyone is starting to have kids in later years. I doubt it will really put that much of a dent in the population. We're technically overpopulated as we speak so birth rates going down for a time isn't gonna kick us in the arse too hard. A lot of PhD students already have masters and they are older than 25. Not everyone finds out their passion right at the beginning of college. Also, people have major life changes, and sometimes the timing or even finances doesn't; work out. Some people also just don't have the support. just because people are on a different path than you or on the same path at a different time does not mean you are better or worse than them. I had a baby AND I am doing school. If anything, I think it is better for people to learn about who they are before rushing to finish a career they might hate in the future.

Personally I enjoyed having younger parents growing up (well, to be fair my whole ass family is "younger", I still have great grandparent's knocking about and driving and I'm 26 lol) and I think that there's a lot of undue stigma of having kids "too young" (very very early 20's) that needs to be abolished. But, at the same time, I know some parents who had absolutely no business being parents in their 20's, and "missing out" on a pure wild time in their life caused them to go buck wild in their 30's and 40's ruining their kids and their own lives. If they had waited, they might have been able to get it out of their system before bringing kids into the mix. Some of my friends had older parents and loved/love them and the life that being "older parents" afforded them, and wouldn't have had it any other way. Yet, some other parent's I know if they had waited to be parents for too much longer... well... they wouldn't have been, or for some, they died just after having kids in their 30's-40's (one from a congenital defect and another from sepsis), leaving their kids with little to no memories of their parents whatsoever. There is no "time" to be a parent. Sometimes "growing up" means having the maturity to know yourself and what would be good for you, and your family. For me, that means a younger mom with a strong support network of family and friends to make up for less independent stability. For them, maybe that means being an older parent with more investment capital for their children under their belt, and their ducks squared in a row.

Most people do not get their money game together before the late twenties-early thirties. And it takes 2 to procreate. Hence you also need to find a partner that’s on the same path as you. How do you get to know someone? By dating that person for a couple of months or even years ( as it’s recommended). Adding up all of that, many people, especially in the US where inflation is killing us would rather wait to be in their 30s to have kids.

The world is much more forgiving when you want to sew your oats in your 20’s. When women spend their 20’s having babies and their husbands leave them when theyre between late thirties and forties…these divorcees tend to want to make up for lost time. The world is far less forgiving when your 42 bringing boyfriends around your kids because you were stuck in the house with a husband and babies since 20. No one cares now because women aren’t “forced” like they used to be.

You're absolutely right! My mom had me when she was 34 and I've noticed huge differences in her parenting style and mentality compaired to mothers that had their kids in their 20s. She would not take stupid risks that would possibly harm me, she was patient enough to educate herself in terms of baby/child care, she would make sure my needs came 1st because she was willing to make huge sacrifices for her child. And that's because she spent her 20s going to college, treating herself, getting into a well paying job, travelling, etc

I think it's just good for women to realize that they dont even know if they're fertile in the first place or how long theyll be fertile. I know women in their mid 20s who are struggling with fertility So waiting could really hurt their chances In any case I think women should get their hormone levels and such tested every so often if they even slightly think they might eventually want children That way they can catch any imbalance early and work to balance it out as early as possible

Those conditions I listed makes it much harder for young girls and women to properly ovulate and produce the balanced amount of reproductive hormones that aid in fertility. It's imperative for all young women to consult with their GPs, endocrinologists, and OBGYNs to ensure their bodies are healthy metabolic and reproductive wise.

Exactly this I’ve met horrible abusive parents that are older and I’ve met amazing parents that are younger I’m 19 and pregnant and married and have already been through so much just from my life being difficult my childhood ended early and I was ready to move past that I’m happier than I’ve ever been and financially and emotionally as stable as I can be

However, my paternal great-grandma had her first child at 21 and she lived to be in her 90s. I have one great-grandma who had her first child at 19 and she is still alive (great-grandma will be 96 on 7-2-2021). Just really pay attention to the message. You can usually spot propaganda if you really pay attention.

I knew in my early 20’s I didn’t want kids I’m 40 now and still feel the same. Blessed to have an amazing husband And we have the best time travelling, dining out and outside work having total freedom - I’ve seen the opposite of us married and 2/3 kids , it’s a mess. I’m sure there’s love but get a puppy they love you unconditionally too! Live your life to the full! It’s impossible do that with kids , that’s just the reality.

@@lextherapy8208 of course. More stress with a child now. Worrying about health care sucks (I live in California). My child needs a lot of therapy that my insurance doesn't cover. Even when you pay for health insurance, there's still copay and deductible. If I were low income, Healthcare and most services are free.

yeah, the chance of having a baby with sindromes is way higher in your 30s, and even higher in the 40s. But I'd say that this is not really a problem, since I'm totally ok with early pregnancy abortion.

I've read that it's more syndromes (birth defects) due to the age of the male and his inability to produce the amount and quality of "soldiers," that he produced in his 20's. Men at age 50 have a 6x higher rate of producing a child with defects than in his 20's and it doesn't matter what age the female is.

I think the point of this video is that women don't need to feel rushed into having children at such a young age. Many women have been pressured from misinformation to have children before they were mentally and financially ready because of the dreaded clicking clock. If you are a mother in your 20's and that was your choice (ei. planned before conceiving) then be happy in your choice, then you were ready to be mother. Personally, I didn't feel like I reached "adulthood" until my 30's and I hate seeing children being raised by their grandparents because the mothers were still children themselves when they gave birth without understanding all that it entailed. Just my thoughts.

I respect your thoughts 🙂 I can agree with the grandparent thing there are some parents who thing having a baby is all fun and games ... my point is that if you have enough money to pay for your home and raise your child as well as having some left over for holidays and treats in your 20’s with a loving partner then why wait. I have a 4 month old son and have enough money to support him and had fertility issues to conceive him also. It probably is slightly better financially to have your baby in your 30’s, my son still has everything he wants and needs tho. Women shouldn’t be pressured by there body clock but I did feel still that this video was bashing 20 something mother’s.

Odds of getting pregnant in an entire year of trying at 40 are 36%. By 45 only 1 in 20 will get pregnant after a year. If you are married and relatively stable financially, I recommend you don't wait too long. Even if you have your first at 35 (only 1 in 2 get pregnant in a year), if you want to bless your child with a sibling at 37, it will statistically take a couple years or possibly not occur at all. If a couple has to pay for fertility treatments, there goes the money they saved by waiting to have children. I fear too many women may miss the blessing of children if they wait for the "perfect" time or pour everything into career only to find career will never love you back.

40s is definitely too old if you want to have good chance of having a healthy baby and siblings for the baby
