Giving Disney Genie Plus Another Try in 2024 at Hollywood Studios - Has it Actually Gotten Better?

Ай бұрын(Part Four) In today's video I make my way to Disney's Hollywood Studios to close out my fun return back to Walt Disney World. I have been stacking up lighting lane return times throughout the day that way I could get on a lot of attractions quick back to back. I start with Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway followed by Tower of Terror. Next, I check out the new scenes that have been added to Star Tours and then hop in line for Rise of the Resistance followed with dinner at Woody's Lunch Box. I also ride Toy Story Mania which was a walk up and I show you a few quick park updates. Finally, I end the night with Fantasmic before making it back to French Quarter to share my overall thoughts on the week at Disney World. Fantasmic gets me every time...happy tears over here!! You ask how those of us who do long trips in the summer handle it, the afternoon breaks are key, besides, the parks at night are my absolute favorite! We twice took our kids on 2 week trips in June and being able to take our time (and enjoy water parks too) is a blessing.

I think that staying away from the Disney World parks has given you a fresh insight. When you went back it was almost like the first time, when you are left with wonder. I enjoy watching you and Bianca explore other things, and maybe then going back to the parks, but not constantly. There is so much else to do in Central Florida that does not even involve theme parks and we all would enjoy watching. Then go back to Disney and give us that fresh, childlike view that you had in the last couple of vlogs. We also enjoy your cruise vlogs, trips to Dollywood, etc. You are so down to earth and refreshing so go out and explore more and share with us!

Dev, to comment on your statement about how us guests can endure the heat, simply put, we have no choice. Since most of us do not live there and can't go anytime like yall locals, (which I wish I was a local down there), we don't have annual passes. So when we do get to come to Disney, we have to endure the weather because our time there is limited. It gets tough enduring the heat, but we that love Disney consider it just a part of it, just to be able to come down there for a vacation. I have never seen Fantasmic yet. But I will this upcoming trip in September.

I used to live in the Orlando area and had an annual pass, but my sister and her son would come down from New Hampshire in July because that was the only time they had vacation time. It was rough, but to them it was worth it. And, I would do anything to make them happy once a year.

DHS is a solid park, but it is also very inconsistent. When the crowds are low, it can be considered the best park attraction-wise, but it's probably my least favorite when busy. ToT, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Galaxy's Edge, Runaway Railway, Toy Story Land, Star Tours, etc. are amazing when you can enjoy them. I've always loved the Tower of Terror. Fantasmic is incredible, and Muppets Vision is always a blast. Great to see you back at Disney, Dev!

My husband and I went to Hollywood Studios a couple weeks ago. He hasn’t been there in years bc he hates crowds. I knew he’d love Galaxy’s Edge and ROTR. I wanted to make sure he’d enjoy his first experience back plus it was my birthday lol. So the best thing I did was book an after hours event. We got in at 6:45pm and was able to do a couple rides plus see Fantasmic before the event started. My husband was worried about the crowds bc it was crowded. I told him to just wait until the event starts and he’ll see the major difference. After the show we walked over to Tower of Terror and that was the first ride that was basically a walk on. We had such an amazing time the whole night. He was like a little kid grabbing his mickey ice cream and drinks lol. I highly recommend doing the after hours event to anyone wanting to enjoy a stress free experience.

fun video, Dev. As for stacking genie+, it's just not possible for us as a family with young kids. We call it quits usually by 2 or 3 in the afternoon.

Here R some tips for a good score at Toy Story Mania …. ( it’s better with 2 people working together) …When you see the volcano irrupt shoot all the balloons and then you’ll see 2 comets ,shoot them - Now the one with all the aliens , focus on getting all the ones that R 100 points and if you get them all you’ll then see a Zurg head and he’ll open his mouth and you can shoot a bunch of rings into his mouth for a high score there, Now the one with the plates, you will see two pink plates on both sides that say 2000 points that will trigger a tank in the middle also there’s a hen on the farm area . Inspiration for me to finally try to ride the attractions that were so popular at the studios; e.g. Rise of the Resistance, that I have been unable to do the past 5 years or so. Dev, Now I am curious. How many times have you been to Disney World Parks? Must be over 1,000 times??? I do recommend you do a visit review of attractions in South West Florida area between Punta Goda or Ft. Myers to the south and Tampa to the north.

Why does everyone say there is not much to do in this park. There are 9 rides and 9 shows, and LOTS of character meet & greets. This park can take up a whole day.

Hey, so when we finally make it down to Florida, I'm making a beeline for Hollywood Studios. They've got all the rides that Disneyland doesn't have. The Tower of Terror was my absolute favorite ride, even better than Haunted Mansion, and now they've got Mission Breakout, which is still my top pick at DCA. After that, I'd hit up Epcot, then Animal Kingdom, and lastly, Magic Kingdom, if I had to choose. But honestly, Mine Train and Slinky Dog are must-dos, along with Frozen and Ratatouille. Basically, anything that Disneyland doesn't have. But listen, I'm not gonna spend my money in Florida while certain people are still in charge, like the governor and that orange mascot. I'm not talking about Orange Bird. Sorry, not sorry! I don't want my Disney mixed up with politics. 😅

Used genie recently and never waited more then 10 mins to ride a ride. I went from ride to ride to ride. Ride everything in about 4 hours. Just need to stay on your phone a lot to get the nearest times refreshing. It does work. It’s just I use to do this FOR FREE with fastpass

I see they are overhauling genie plus next month. Won’t be called genie plus. It will be more like fastpass plus but instead resort guests will pick 3 lighting lanes 7 days in advance, 3 days for non resort guests. Of course it still costs money not free like before.

There are too many rides closed. I feel the price is too high maybe when universal's epic universe disney will wake up and lower their prices. I just do not see me going in the near future

It depends on if you are a FL resident or not. If you are not a FL resident, base ticket prices are almost comparable, depending on the park you go to. Both parks offer FL resident deals on tickets. Like right now there's a FL resident discover disney ticket that has a base price of $213 for 3 days at any of the parks between april 2 - sept 28. For about $17 more, you can get the 4 day ticket and for $40 more you can add the park hopper option for all days.

I read Bob Igror's book recently and Disney has always gone through boom and bust cycles. With the political and financial climate I think Disney is just in a bust cycle right now trying to service its debts that ironically did lead to a lot of its growth through the 2010s. Hopefully they get control of things soon and come back stronger.

You know I was at epcot and hollywood studios for the first time in many years. It was the best time I had ever had at those parks. The last time I was there, it was still mgm studios and the app didn't exist.

Not if you know how to use it, lol 😅. We nailed it at Disneyland. Get an LL for the ride you like that is available the quickest and continue as soon as possible. Set a timer! r Ride non LL rides such as dark rides in between or walk threw or get food. As soon as you use your LL book another if possible, the app tells you what time you can book another. You also have a window of an hour and can book over lapping LL as long as you can ride those two rides within the time frame. If a ride goes down, you can pick any ride on the list. Just scan your code. I like to do one side of the park at a time.

Yup, if you buy a ticket to a park you are only going to get a few rides and you definitely are not getting on the newest and greatest rides unless you pay more.
