The Honda Civic Project continues with a HIGHLY anticipated Exterior Detailing Series! We will be transforming the paint of my (at one time) $1500 Honda Civic into a showroom finish. Part 1 will explain all of the Detailing Products and Tools used for the Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating. Let's GO!
Detailing is a HUGE passion of mine and the sole reason my vehicles look like they do. I'm a firm believer in polishing turds because the outcome can often surprise you! I wanted to bring you all along for a more advanced detailing video and show you why a Professional Detail is so different from a can of wax. My Honda Civic has been in need of a Polish and Coating for almost a year in which many of you wanted to see! So sit back and relax because this video will be all about the products being used and why I'm using them. I do have footage placed from Part 2 and Part 3 of this series so you can follow along!
Anthony, can you detail any car like this? Well, yes, but... An exterior detail will only be as good as the paint that is on the car. If your car is missing clear coat, or rattle canned with no clear coat, it's going to be a bad time. If your car's paint is only scratched or swirled, there is hope. The reason my Civic looks as shiny as it does, is because the clear coat I have on the car has help up OK in the last 20 years. Yes I have had things repainted on the car, but most of the car is still original and originally scratched. The point of me applying a ceramic coating is to protect whats left of the clear coat for as long as I can. I simply chose to polish the car to remove scratches and swirls before locking it in. I hope that makes sense.
Premium Detailing Products are EVERYTHING. There is thousands of brands out there, but doing your research will do you wonders. Premium doesn't necessarily mean expensive. The products I chose for this video are my personal favorites that I have vetted for years. Things I know how to use and how to use well for the best possible finish. Yes you can use other products to get the same result, these are just products that I find give me the best results, personally. I will do my best to link all of the products down below in the description for those that want to follow along.
