Gas has been (and still is, quite frankly) ridiculously trivial. In previous alphas a single trip to the desert and a couple of rock busters later and you were set on gas for the entire remainder of the game. Making oil shale produce less gas made sense, and again, still gives you stacks of gas that will last you a while.

I think the number of kills, the number of jobs cleared, and whatnot also determine game stage. So, you don't have to level up by itself.

The turrets don’t actually need a block under them. You can just use the side of base as anchor point. Also then the turret can shoot/see lower down. That horde had no chance against that base! Awesome video again.

You should make a video listing the good things, the bad things and the overall score of the A21 changes. Also explaining why you think the change was bad and how would you fix it.

Glad they did the cop change in regards of demos. A counter against AFK bases I take it. Which makes sense.

They’ve also made cloth in recipes more expensive now. It’s 10 cloth for 1 duct tape they kinda balanced this by making scrapping clothes give more

Thegame stage is calc'ed when you first spawn, so cause you spawn at 8am, the new "day" starts at 8am

Gamestage uses days alive, not total days, and is essentially a timer. So if you are in solo it will tick over each day at like 9 am, or whatever the day 1 start time is. In multiplayer it will only count the time you have been logged into the game, so if you join and play for 3 hours (3 in game days) and then log back in on day 25, you will still only have 3 days alive counted.

I'm not sure how I feel about that base, it works but it's very light on turrets. I've saved/bought about 15 SMG turrets in my game and just need to come up with a base design to make it work.

I made a hollow steel box in the wasteland, with a box attached to the ceiling, and just let the cops, and demos blow up the rubble underneath, until the hole was deep enough for me to encase in steel. Then all I had to repair was the box in the ground, for the most part. Effective, and Efficient for high level game stages.

Just build a cage around the turrets with bars. Works like a charm.

The main thing that they screwed the pooch on in alpha 21 is taking away the ability to get water from one of the many water sources around the map and boil it clean.. now .. that's just common sense basic bare bones survival stuff.. find shelter get a water source, make a fire to boil it clean and go hunting for food. why bother building near water as its now pretty useless unless you think just drinking it through a helmet filter is worth it. lol Keep up the great content. That Hoard Base is Awesome!

Kind sir, How does one have a box full of bullet casings? we are 4 people who love shooting and we are always running out of casings to make ammo. Brass seems to be the most scarce resource :s

I guess the gas being more expensive does make Solar a bit more relevant…though probably still overly expensive. Probably needs to be reduced in price to buy still. I do find if I combine solar with batteries, it’s a pretty good supplement to power which reduces the gas cost…every little bit helps?

wonder if u could find a spot for 2 more fences INSIDE ur base and route the power from there to the others... use that as the one to repair point then ur fences cant go down if u know what i mean also what about instead of the writable boxs use those wall safes u tried in ur base a few episodes ago

If you use three Junk turrets on hoard night would that give you 100% up time of them firing? As one goes down the next come up giving plenty of time to reload? Wonder if it would be too much of a pain as the active one would be the last one you lay down from what I remember.

So one oil shale for 2 gas cans that is most probably 5 gallon cans. That is 10 gallons of gas for one oil shale or 37.5 liters of gas. Seems like it is still pretty far off from realistic but closer. Just makes it more of a challenge really.

he @IzPrebuilt - can you smelt the ingame item that is a usable stack of Iron to make the process circumvent the 12000 unit cap?

12:50 "Maybe your gamestage isn't calculated at the start of the day" _welp_ take the comments section with a grain of salt, but your "Days Alive" counter advances after i think its like 8 or 9AM, < whatever time it is when you start the game on Day 1, so on Day 2 at 6AM your days alive counter is still 0 but Day 2 at 10AM your days alive increases to 1. And I don't pretend to know how to calculate gamestage, just that i think Days Alive is a factor. So if you died, your Days Alive counter drops to zero and you get an easier gamestage. something like that maybe

honestly dont know why, i watch a lot of horde base videos and they just wont show how it does against a demolisher spawn. they say its set at day 7000 etc but its mostly just regular zombies and an occasional cop

I can see why IzPrebuilt is maybe getting bored. I handle this by challenging myself to efficiency min/maxing. My base has as much crap as Izprebuilt, but I don't farm for resources. If you have access to 5 or 6 traders and maxed better barter, you can buy most everything you'd ever use, aside from gas maybe, and still gain dukes every week. One example is to abuse the way penetrator works with the %dismember chance from attributes. Rank 4 penetrator gives you 1-4x times the damage *per* bullet, *and* 1-4 times the chances to dismember. The damage per bullet becomes unbeatable. Heads can be dismembered for an instant kill, blowing off a limb does a set number of damage. The damage per bullet becomes so efficient that I never mine. Design a base where they line up, and mow them down 10x more efficiently. I when I do hordes using this methodology, turrets are a waste of resources. Just smelt them down or sell them. Carry 1-2 backup weapons, I like to use two m60's modded out the same way. Add in an electric fence, primarily to buy you time to reload. Watch a single bullet pop anywhere from 1-4 zombies each. On average, I kill about one zombie per 1 bullet because of how well penetrator works with high attributes. It is entirely worth the resources to buy/craft AP ammo. Real efficiency is finding ways to make explosives work. With perks, the humble exploding crossbow bolt is the most efficient way to clear entire hordes. Just design a bunch up mechanic, use an electric fence to buy time, and watch as you never have to farm anything. I just buy all the crap I need, haven't touched a resource node in months.

As a now non-player(watcher only) of 7 days to die. Leave this game behind and play The Infected. I think you'll find all of the stuff that you have to do in that game great because it definitely plays into the survival game finésse. Personally I don't understand why you continue to play 7dtd over and over, for me game hasn't chagned significantly enough since alpha 16/17 and I don't care what other people say. Lost a few friends over it but got them back in Minceraft of all things...

Demos are obnoxious now. Feels like the hitbox on their c4 is so much larger and sensitive. I now carry a rocket launcher at all times and just solo rocket demos because I can't be bothered to have them get popped by nonsense.
