I bought one brand new in the 1980’s. It made a real mess, turning the land up in huge lumps. It had nylon mouldboards that wore out in the first 50 acres, so we replaced them with metal ones. There might have been a role for it in really dry conditions, but we sold it on after a couple of seasons.

Not much ploughing goes on our West side of Scotland so it’s great to watch you at work. Just love the outdoors!

Good job. Don't need to look at one of them ploughs now 😆😉. Suppose flat fields and no stones and they would be OK for making quick seed beds drill chasing the plough style😉. Stay safe sir 🏴 semi mounted plough? I'm needing a 6 for my 8730 😁

Squares are good for re-turning soil that's already been torn somehow, like rippers or stalk choppers.

They work a bit better on flat dry ground and send that square ploughs up the road Drew and get yourself a 5f💪 🤙🤙👍👍

Top link needs to be extended with 4 to 5 turns. Plough is leaning to much forward and the right lift arm be lifted a little that the plough pulls level

We’ve been plowing with a little two furrow lemken. It’s a slow old job but its not worth our time to get a bigger one. Though yesterday the ram packed up, and then after taking it apart it decided to work again.

is that kverneland a 14 to 18" or something ? ive one EG that goes to 20" but i dont like the looks of the furrows, not as nicely turned soil as when i just go 18" instead but i see you go full width and it doesnt look half bad

Great for deep loam but terrible for hard, dam conditions. Howard rotovator company, John Deere had these. I prefer the Australian disc plow. Plowing is best when pre ripped.

These ploughs are used extensively in the usa,Australia new Zealand etc. Used on grassland and ploughs very well, see videos here on switch plow in grassland. This seemed not enough an angle and pushed soil ahead of itself instead of sliding through smoothly, is it the model used or what? These work well and would plough anything usually. This did nice work here i thought.

It’s presumably better in flatter dryer conditions, no use on our farm unfortunately

@@DrewsFarminLife take your point but all ploughs are similar on slopes,here in France Square ploughs I've seen on dreadful slopes and the performance is the same. Maybe it's technology etc but seen john deere Square ploughs doing great work except in long old grass! You did well I thought in the video.

There is no furrow to follow. Hole are you driving straight? Far all had a rollover plow that allowed one way plowing like your hydraulics provide. You finally got the plows to scour. Paint them to keep rust off, the plow will work better now

Well there yah go, you need a disc plough for stony conditions, this is me ploughing, cant believe it is 11 years ago kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a6hpeaqkq8fPfnk.html that was my first go a youtube, lost my password lol so started again later They had those square ploughs in Australia but mainly in drier conditions

definitely, they did clean up a few runs in, but still didn't make a good job here unfortunately.

@@montidell7227 For our Keverneland we went to a local dealer and bought it there. Our plow is a fixed spline and not like Drews that is vari width.
