I'm glad you confirmed the BA timbre. I heard it at Canjam when it was first premiering. Most songs I listened to had BA timbre but it was only about a 15 minute listening session. Then none of the reviews except Vortex Reviews had any mention of the timbre. I can always rely on you and Vortex.

Dave said I rock! 😭 Chopin might be my favorite Harman iteration but it does come with the same drawbacks. Another Honest review.

Chopin is solid performer with that slight BA timbre and slight thin note weight. You do rock! Sunny 🐯 does to!

For me, Chopin easily. Tho I think both are good just Quintet very unnatural.

I'd lean Chopin as it has just a bit better tone and timbre.

I'm aware there's a huge gap in price between these two but.. How does the Chopin compare to the Hype 4? Both in terms of tonality and technicalities (especially resolution).

Hype 4 is a big upgrade with resolution, tone and timbre.

The nozzle length is my main reason I didn't buy it. I have a harder time with getting a good fit with long nozzles

I understand. I tend to prefer longer nozzles as shorter nozzles don't fit and seal. Also I prefer a little bit of a wing or ergonomic fit; smooth, flat backs tend to cause issues. We all have different ear shapes.

Chopin has more bass presence, especially in the sub bass. Mids are similar. Treble is more extended and better controlled on Chopin. Details and resolution are slightly better on Chopin. Tone and timbre are similar, Chopin maybe a slight edge.

Great review as always Dave. This set is not for me though. I am very sensitive to BA timbre. I don’t tolerate it very well.

You need to listen to the Pula PA02, sounds phenomenal and almost the same price tag, haven't heard the Chopin but the Pula PA02 beats all of the others sets I own: Katos, S12, Hexa, Dusk, IE200, FUDU Verse 1 and it's ridiculously easy to drive even with the Sony A306 caped version, they have almost the same EQ graph of Xenns Top.

How does it compare to the CKLVX? I'm planning to get an upgrade for the hexa for around 200 dollars, I like neutral sets and mainly use iems for gaming, music and media, as of now, I'm considering the cklvx and the chopin but can't decide which one to pick up. Any suggestions?

D41 has a more balanced, musical presentation. The Chopin has thinner note weight and a slight bass tuck. The D41 has a slight edge in detail retrieval and resolution. Staging is similar but the D41 has a little deeper depth.

Kato is more neutral leaning presentation, has fuller note weight, more accurate tone and timbre, less bass impact and doesn't have the forward, sparkle and energy in the upper mids and lower treble. Chopin has a more engaging, fun sound and the Kato is more neutral and natural.

Blessing 3 is better performer in my opinion. I recommend using at least a DAC/Amp dongle unless your PC has a really good soundcard and amplifier.

I just tried Simgot EW200 for 5 mins and got fatigued in 5 mins. Just not for me. Tone and timbre are off, thin note weight, mid bass and upper bass are lean, average soundstage, too boosted uppermids/lower treble. THA's explanation of it in his review was accurate

I've not heard the Chopin since I reviewed it and the P5 was sold about a year ago so I don't recall much of either. Going off memory the Chopin is slightly more detailed and resolving and has more natural tone and timbre.

Morning sir. I have heard that there is a rule called 1/8 which means that your output power source to work correctly with your headset should have 1/8 of the impedance of the headsets,is this right? What do you think? Thanks

That's what a lot of people claim. To be honest, I don't pay attention much to the numbers. What matters the most of if it sounds good or not. But output impedance and power can alter sound for sure so it should be considered to some degree.

That's right. Otherwise the frequency response the head/earphones can change noticably, though not necessarily dramatically, in an unpredictable way. Well, practically unpredictable, unless you have an impedance/frequency graph of the head/earphones in questions, which is not a common thing to say the least, in contrast to amplitude/frequency response graphs which are pretty much ubiquitous these days.
