The main problem with MEST MkIII is the price increase. When MkII and MkI can still be bought for 600-900 dollars less than MkIII, it’s just not worth it.

Especially the red version. I mean who is going to spend $300 more just for a different color way. Even then, the price for with or without the cable is ridiculous , it’s like $350. I understand that the cable is nice but it should be included in the base price, not a markup. Sticking with the MK2 and am happy I got it for $950 new.

Second I remember demoing this in Canjam as well. Reminded me too much of my existing MEXT on first listen, so I didn't really see the point of it.

I even felt that way with the multi-verse mentor when I was demoing it, I was like this sounds a lot like my Mest mk 2 so maybe not worth it their house sound is definitely there

Random thought but listening to the outro song with the original Yume sounds *chef's kiss* not sure I can sacrifice the way the mids are tuned even for all of that Mest "air" region. Just wish the original yume could have the yume ultra's air without the 4k spike- and then maybe a tiny bit more midbass to balance things out

MEST MKIII looks the same as MEST Indigo. Are they sound the same?

They aren't the same, the reason it uses the indigo shell its because they changed it last minute, the original shell was quite ugly

Driver flex does make me sad. My MEST Mk2 has it on both IEMs. Still love them.

⁠@@Hijynx87those are the Ear tips I use. I also use the Azla crystal tips since they are quite short considering the Mest Mk2 nozzle is quite long.

That's why i stick to Mest Indigo which tweaked the FR to account for the treble and also has more in the upper-mids/treble/air region. indigo has thicker mids than the previous Mests as well for those who didn't like the thinness.

I think the better upgrade is Monarch MK3 MEST > MEST MK2 > Monarch MK3

Too bad we have to wait like over 3 months to even get the annihilator after spending 3k 😢 I had to settle on the Gaea which is still pretty freakin awesome

i spent a bit less $1500 for sony ier z1r and the tuning fits me so well i love the scoop in the 2k and the beefy sub bass now gotta wait a couple of months and get the maestro se or the grand maestro

The further away from the very first revision of MEST. it's getting worse and worse.. Why do they want such money, for a deaf bullshit, where nothing can be heard? I can't understand the logic. The only thing I was not satisfied with the OG version was the size of the shells.
