I don't know why it didn't occur to me before - I was listening to my IEMs and was thinking the seal wasn't too good. So I folded my ears flat, forward...and the sound quality just improved. Bass was so much better. I then put on my headphones to keep my ears pressed and now I'm happy. Cost was $0. If you want to improve the sound of your IEMs and a spare set of headphones, give it a shot.

I don't think you should compare these to any of the budget $20 IEM's. I think these should be aimed at the $50-80 IEM market. Meaning things like Hexa, Aria, Kinera's and such. I think we all know the Project Red are better then the $20 IEM market in general for quality of the drivers and tuning level.

I hope to see some really high-quality multi-driver metal bullet-style IEMS with great mic quality, and straight-down detachable cable, around 100 $ Stuff like Tin T2 with above changes. Plus smooth rounded edges, unlike the sharp ones on T2, please. Hope TIMMY does a collab to cater to this kind of market 😃 For a normal person who is not a pro audio/sound/mixing engineer, it is really difficult to wear the around-the-ear types and be able quickly remove IEM to talk to people around you, and attend phone calls without removing IEM and switching to another IEM/TWS for calls. Edit: The bullet shape is not necessary , it can be anything that offers a good fit & grip without falling out from ears easily. Bullet shape is usually not good for passive noise isolation from ambient sounds/noise, and also more prone to easily fall out from ears.

@Siddharth Metal itself isn't costly. There are several affordable iems with metal body. Well tuned as well. What I'm proposing is a versatile multi-purpose convenient product with high quality sound. I don't mind high price if it excels at all that I mentioned. Market is over abundant with cheap products that only do 1 thing and need us to use other products for other purposes and needing us to remove the over-ear twisted cable hook.

Cleaner sounding, better clarity. The graph shows a difference in lower mids which is quite substantial in changing the openness and note weight. Lower treble is more on red as well. Rant in coming: There is a big problem in Chifi reviews where reviewers primarily compare them to items around their own price point (I’m speaking generally, I haven’t finished this review yet). Which is cool… but for your average consumer this creates a weird vacuum where they hear the Variations is great and the zero:red is great… and then there is this assumption that they are even remotely comparable. Reviewers should give their viewers an idea of where the product they are reviewing actually sits in the market, yes, for the price point, but also in relation to what is available above and below (especially when talking about something you can’t demonstrate in a video). The Zero:Red (which I’ve had for a week now) sounds great… for the price. In the market as a whole it is pretty mid. And for most people who already have a chifi set, they would be better served saving that $50 and putting it towards a true step up instead constantly hunting for a “grail” in the sub $100 zone. I know several people, myself included, who spent way more on Chifi than proper HiFi or Mid-Fi. The Zero:Red sounds great for $50, but it sounds pretty cheap compared to the Variations, IE 600s, even the IE 200’s offer a better experience and in my opinion sound better for most genres. I mean, now that I mention it, the Quarks DSP are actually better sounding than the Zero:Red. Some of that is my opinion, especially regarding the IE200 and Quarks DSP, but there is no arguing that there is a massive gap between the Zero:Red and the IE 600 and Variations. Even the Eclipse (not as well tuned as the red IMO) and Dusk are thoroughly better in many if not all regards. Even with the fat bottom on the eclipse it is a more enjoyable listen due to it not feeling so cramped and small like the Zero:Red. So for a first set of IEMs to get your feet wet, the Zero:Red and similar IEMs are great. The sub $100 market is filled with pretty good offerings especially compared to a few years ago. That being said, if you have limited dough, save up and make your second set one that you will actually love for a long time. If you listen to music as much as I do, it’s worth it to invest in stuff that will actually stand the test of time as your tastes progress. Sorry that was long. 😅

I should say, my frustrations aren’t regarding with the Zero:Red or this YT channel which I watch regularly, my frustrations are more with way the audio community discourse surrounding chifi IEMs - sometimes feels like greedy hype for referral link clicks, but I doubt it’s actually that, as I’m sure most reviewers are good dudes. Anyways, hopefully this comment doesn’t get deleted. I would love to hear some pushback on my points if people think I’m off base.

The Problem with absolutely all Truthear is the fit. I hate it. The nossle is just so huge and long that it hurts instantly when inserting them and it is just not bearable.

@edding6210
@edding6210 Жыл бұрын
@@wolfwoof2000 really depends on your ears. But I would suggest the Moondrop IEMs, as the nossle that goes in your ears is smaller. Especially the Moondrop Aria fits me nice. Whats important is, that you try all of the silicon ear tip sizes to find one that fits you perfectly, as this is crucial for getting the bass. Would not recommend Truthear IEMs at all.

Yeah the community has gone crazy for the reds but I'm not buying them due to risky fit and I don't like the shoelace design. Simgot ew200 is getting a lot of good reviews too but I'm gonna stick with my Salnotes 7hz while the market still develops.
