Listen to Max comp behind the piano, the great jazz drummers knew how to make the soloist shine like the sun. Yes his beautifully melodic solos have influenced many jazz drummers & even some rock players. Thanks for sharing this gem of a recording!

Max was so melodic when he played. He was the first drummer to teach me that a drum solo could be done in song form.
