The GKTECH high tensile 4130 zinc coated tie rod extenders screw on to the end of either standard or aftermarket tie rods and allow the tie rods to travel further into the steering rack which creates more steering lock. Great for drift or getting out of parking spots. Can be used either with or without the extra washer (included) to offer a grand total of 19mm's extra lock without compromising on the amount of thread left in the steering rack.
- DIY installation (not as easy as the washer install but still not too hard)
- CNC machined high tensile zinc coated 4130 steel
Vehicle Compatibility:

Just FYI for my LHD 2003 350z with OEM rack. To center the rack, I ended up with 2-7/8" on passenger side and 3-1/8" on the driver side. I did have to cut the inner tie rods since I got hella toe in on the passenger side. Hope this helps someone.

As video shown at 2:23, You could mension it's recommended uses stainless zip tie to hold the boot, especially on the longer spacer inserted side. Regular plastic zip tie cannot hold the boot in place when situation like steering lock opposite direction, since it will expands a lot more than from the factory tolerance.
@gktech
@gktech 4 жыл бұрын
You definitely could, through our experience the metal zip ties possibly may dig in and cut the OEM steering boot, also they are harder to tighten as tight as a plastic one. Second to that, they tend to cut you up when working underneath, if a good quality plastic one (or OEM) is used, it should stop the boot from coming off, from the lip on the steering rack!

I have a 1990 240sx, LHD, with RCCK and these rack spacer set. I thought it was plug and play from the gk videos i watch; dead wrong. I had to re calculate the amount of turns for left and right, which is 1.5 turns left and right but leaves my steering wheel @ 2”o” clock. I guess i hav to pull the steering wheel to re-position at 12 “0” clock again. Even after that, the passenger wheel is toe in; which means i hav to the outter tie rod a bit shorter. The driver side wheel is toe out; which means i have to extend the outter tie rod a bit. I am on stock inner and outter tie rods.

Does getting the 12-15 degrees require cutting the factory lock stops off? Or do these not require that and you still get the extra lock? If i do cut the stops off the lower arm, will it hurt the rack to full lock with no stops or will the spacer act as a new lock stop?

More info on how to center the rack and steering wheel would be helpful! I get the centering of the rack itself by measuring, but then the steering wheel is not centered at all. Took me a ton of research to figure out how to center the wheel up without moving the rack. Every single forum and video shows that adjusting the wheel is done by adjusting tie rods and rack which is not how it's done with this kit. I believe you have to disconnect the steering u-joint which I will try soon. Even then it might not be perfectly centered.
@gktech
@gktech 5 жыл бұрын
Hey dude! The most important part is getting the rack centered, from there people most commonly just unbolt the steering wheel then re-tighten it to the straight position. Super straight forward, but none the less you are welcome to get in touch if you want a more in depth answer until we release a video on that one day! John

@@gktech sounds good. I'll give that a try. I thought the splines on the steering wheel and electrical connectors only allowed it to go on one way but I will give that a try before undoing the u joint.

@@Phil60084 Depending on the model and car, some will have clock springs for the air-bag, which is a different thing all together, but in saying that, the clock spring and steering wheel can still be recentered. Once you remove the steering wheel you will see that it is splined and pretty straight forward :)

Hey man, i got a rhd 350z. Racks are hard to get and i was wondering if the added angle damage the rack seals? Thanks!
@gktech
@gktech 4 жыл бұрын
Hey dude! Adding more angle does not damage the rack seal, the amount of angle added is what is already safely available in the rack as design by Nissan, these just essentially 'unlock' that amount and allow it to be used safely, without any over extension!

Hey dude! If you have run out of threads even after cutting the inner tie rod down, it sounds as if you would need inner tie rods with more thread, we do make them also if you wanted to check them out here: au.gktech.com/m14-super-adjustable-inner-tie-rod Note, ours are M14 and yours may be M12, so you would need to change your outer tie rod ends to suit also!

So, to recenter the rack. I’m supposed to remove the steering wheel, not the U joint? 350z btw
@gktech
@gktech 4 жыл бұрын
Hey dude, You can do it from either, it would probably be easier from the U-joint as it saves you messing around with the clock spring. If you have a boss kit and steering wheel already, then it would be easier through the steering wheel.

on my v35 on the passengers side with only a 5mm spacer it only leaves 3 threads into the rack, do you have a fix for this?, adam lz 350z had his tie rod thread pull out of rack just the other day
@gktech
@gktech Жыл бұрын
Different model tie rods have a different amount of thread available on the inner. For example: Our inner tie rods have a longer threaded section for where it's inserted into the rack, this is so we can safely use them with slip-on spacers. I'd suggest whatever tie rod you are using has an adequate amount of thread.

Hey how’s it going! Not really sure on how to center the rack do you pull the steering shaft off ? Thanks
@gktech
@gktech 4 жыл бұрын
Hey dude! At around the 2:11 mark we show how to center the rack! You need to make sure the measurements are the same on both sides, which indicates even rack travel. This is measured from the end of the inner tie rod to the base of the steering rack. From there you will need to take your steering wheel off and then re-center it. Then you can also double check by tuning lock to lock and counting the amount of turns from the center point of the steering wheel. You are welcome to get in touch if you need any further help also :)

@gktech 4 жыл бұрын
@@joshuahebert4154 We physically do not have a phone to answer haha! You need to install the spacers, then just simply turn the rack until they are even. Then from there, re-adjust the inner tie rod ends to point the wheels straight and do all adjustments for toe from there. Then from the inside, remove and refit the steering wheel until it points straight.

The thing i don't get about this kit is why is one side got a bigger spacer that means you would only have heaps of angle turning one way and a little extra turning the other way
@gktech
@gktech 3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, the rack has additional travel in one direction more than the other. By following the process of centering the steering rack, the car will turn the same amounts both ways. That is the reason for centering.

@@gktech So I got a RHD Silvia S13 from Japan. The car has Ikeya Power inner tie rods and s14 outer tie rod. It has 2 silver washers on driver and passenger side. I guess it was done this way to increase Ackerman. as the trailing tire will always positive at full lock. I should just run the one silver on driver side If I wanted closer to stock Ackerman. I am getting way too much suspension jacking with both silver washers in and I guess it's better for low speed stuff... If you use the longer spacer on passenger side then you would have close to stock Ackerman. I was hitting the inside of my rim when going full lock right on left side wheel because of this

This video is rubbish. It seems you can do it in 2 hours, but not. You need to cut tie rods and remove the joint from the rack and so on. But the little spacer is an easy job but its not that funny if you got more angle for just the right side, but its something...
