Gladiator ended with Maximus reuniting with his family in Heaven. There was no need to make a sequel to this classic at all

The first movie wrapped everything up. There is nothing to build a sequel around. It's a testament to Hollywood's lack of ideas.

The problem isn't Denzel. He's great. The problem is the trailer made it seem like it was Training Day in Rome and not Gladiator.

I think about 97% of people, or more, love Denzel as an actor, but sticking him in a gladiator sequel just makes zero sense
