I love his attitude and demeanor but Serge's loose poor play style always bothers me for some reason

Why was Nelson such a jerk at the start, constantly talking over Kathleen and choosing some frankly mean words?

Nelson isn't really a full member of the LRR crew and only joins them for MTG content. So I think to a certain degree it's that he doesn't have as much experience riffing with them on camera and doesn't have the same "aggressively positive" attitude that a lot of LRR content and performers/members put forward (This is what differentiates him from Wheeler who is in the same spot frequency of appearance wise, but seems to click more with the upbeat energy). That can make it feel like Nelson's a lot rougher or more biting than the rest of the group. That said, I do think he sometimes makes comments that feel like they're 90% mean and 10% an attempt at a joke. The one in this stream where he basically sarcastically says "News flash, X is a good card" after Kathleen remarks on it and she responds with a "Okay, guess I'll just not comment anymore" felt very awkward and rude at the time and still does in the re-watching.
