I’m a small scale flower farmer in the US and grown over a 1000 gladiolus. They are one of the hardest flowers to sell to florist that I grow. Next time a florist states they don’t have a use for them I will show them this video. I appreciate all of your knowledge. 💚

There were so many red and white glads at my father's funeral when I was younger that I never grew them until last year. I couldn't even pick them last year and use them in arrangements! I just didn't want to see them in arrangements at all. Thank you for showing me different ways of looking at them!! The single flowers are gorgeous and such a much different look than the spike. Will totally see these flowers in a different light this season.

I bet too, because you're a grower you'll find a whole heap of beautiful colours and could have a good hunt around for what bulbs are available (and be really selfish about the colours you want to grow). 🎉

Thanks for this! I am one who has disliked glads in general. Not a fan of the spiky top and I wondered if you could pluck it off and just use however much yummy full blooms you have??? Will that diminish it severely

Absolutely yes!!! I love how full and open the glad flowers look and if you put them in an arrangement with that top tip cut off, it'll look like a lisianthus or single rose 😎

When you wired and taped the individual blooms- how long will a bloom like that last without hydration?

+24hrs...and that was leaving it out in a warm, bright room. If it was stored in a dark, cool place I bet you could push that even further. I'd also bet that if we used Passion Flower Sue's hydration chamber approach, you could get a few days out of it. 😇
