We have three leather briefcases with the old fashioned Gladstone closure: the 14" Front Door Briefcase, the Flight Bag, and the Barrister's Briefcase. The cool thing about the Gladstone closure is that when the bag is opened, it stays wide open until you say otherwise. This comes from a time when zippers weren't a thing yet and they needed a way to keep their bags closed, and considering we use no breakable parts (like zippers, magnets, or snaps), the Gladstone closure fits right in with the Saddleback design philosophy of "build it for life."
The 14" Front Door Briefcase is our smallest of the three designs and is ideal for a minimalist. It holds a 14" MacBook Pro in the floppy laptop sleeve with plenty of room left in the main compartment for notepads, books, a light jacket, etc. The front pocket is super cool because it also has the Gladstone frame closure and drops down like an old school drawbridge. The pocket is inset so it doesn't stick way out and give the bag a bigger profile. The Flight Bag is our medium sized Gladstone leather briefcase and it holds up to a 16" MacBook Pro. It's 5" deep so there's plenty of room in the main compartment for iPads, notepads, headsets, etc. The two front pockets are great for cables, chargers, and smaller things, and there are pockets behind those pockets so you can easily slide your passport, wallet, or receipts back there. saddlebackleather.com/flight-...
The Barrister's Briefcase is the big boy and it fits pretty much whatever you need it to fit at 8" in depth. There are two laptop sleeve that holds all laptops and tablets, internal pockets for extra organization, and a divider down the middle that you can move around to stuff one side out more than the other if you need. Just like the Flight Bag, there are two front pockets with pockets behind those pockets.
