This should have millions of views, in my opinion Gladys is criminally underrated in comparison to her contemporaries!! And hers is one of the only voices that still sounds just as good as it originally did. She is simply phenomenal❤️!

Gladys is not the only one. There are/were about 10 of her level. Each with their specificities..i truely believe There are still many great true Talents in New génération. But they are not what recording companies and producers look for. The last 25 years, what emerged is a bunch of totally untalented girls. They picked cute girls, usually white, arranger some artificial sound and formed girls bands. They are only manufactured products. I do believe There are still hugely talented singers, but they are hard to find. They are preachers " daughters who attended church since baby age. This is probably where to hear them. Their only carrer openings are Gospel ( like Yolanda Adams) or clubs and Jazz festivals. ❤

She hasn’t worn it out with heavy touring or abused her body with drugs and alcohol. Not sure if she ever smoked, but if she did, she quit a long time ago. Those things destroy a voice. Look at BFF Dionne. No voice left at all. Toured constantly for years and has been a smoker for over half a century. Still smokes to this day.

I was 10 years old watching this when it first aired. BET _always_ got it right when it came to the Lifetime Achievement. From Whitney to EWF to the Isleys to Gladys to Diana to Al Green to the O'Jays to Prince to Patti to Frankie and Maze to Charlie and on and on.

I swear to God I need Gladys Knight to live forever! I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it when God calls her home to heaven! She is truly a timeless treasure and her songs always touch my soul. I have around 20 on my list... Gladys, Patti, Dionne, Shirley, Yolanda, Arretha of course...but in do not know young ones. I would have to live in America and attend church probably. That's where they are i guess. They are also in jazz festivals and clubs. But no large audience since labels are only interested in what they do. Manufacturing products. Taking cute girls, usually white, and arrangent them à voice with computers and that's it. This is the sad story of the last 30 years

This is another génération. There must be new ones everywhere in churches since their baby age ,but opportunities are few in a world where what we are fed with is commercial products ..manufactured products. Cute girls ,usually white,with studio arranged voices ..it started with the boys and girls bands .leaving very little space for Talent. I believe making a tour of South churches would reveal There is still great REAL people, voices ...❤
