In this video, I upgrade my cool storage in my pantry to a warmer, more glamorous shelving! This is completely extra, but I loved the way it turned out. I also wanted to share a few stories about working at the Container Store and designing Elfa Closets. I designed Elfa closets for years and I loved it so much! dont be afraid to constantly change your pantry. i find what i want to cook in summer is so different from what i cook in winter that i completly reorganize my pantry seasonally

Our kitchen in our home of 45+ years had a custom-built kitchen, which I had designed and Nigel built over a period of 2 years, at weekends. We opted way back in the early 70's for Elfa systems. Way before pot drawers and other modern conveniences, we had to find a budget-friendly option, that worked! All under counter cupboards had Elfa metal , free-standing racks, with sliders. All drawer baskets slid into these. I never had to unpack an under-counter cupboard! Was marvelous!! Of course, here in South Africa we do not have the modern Elfa systems at all; at our current exchange rate, importing some would be prohibitively expensive. They are so sensible and always look good....txs for an always-inspiring video, Kay!

I completely customized our food pantry. My husband and I went to the container store and hired someone to help us plan and design my dream pantry. Yes it was costly but you are right, it was well worth the cost.

It looks great Kay! Yes to seasonal kitchen towels. I have some for Fall and some for Christmas (which I keep out until Spring.) Then I have spring and summer towels. Variety!!

As a former nail technician, I'd say the best place to store your nail polishe is in the fridge. I've had a few of mine for over 6 years. 👍🏻 Love the videos.

I have seasonal dish towels - I've been working on each season for about 5 years, and I'm finally done! I get mine from HomeGoods, and I make sure to buy two sets so I still have them while some are in the wash. I supplement with plain white/plain towels so I have enough towels for cleaning and baking/cooking.

It is still always inspiring and refreshing to watch the joy and creativity you bring to storage spaces. You have inspired me to wall paper the inside of a few cupboards and they bring me daily joy! Just what I needed, some pantry motivation! Our so-called pantry is a big ugly cabinet, which is too deep in my opinion, but I can't change that. I've did that cabinet two or three times, but sadly, the order didn't keep long. The main problem is that we have much and use much, but my Butterfly thinks that organization, containers, etc. is a form of mental illness, so she opposes every rule and system created by me and, naturally, never brings her own. How does she find something? She asks me. So when I open that cursed cabinet, I lose all my cooking inspiration, because every time I must turn all the pantry inside out to find all I need, and after I should do prepping, cooking, washing pans, tidying... and I am already tired. And for my Butterfly it's even worse, she opens the cabinet and sees one, solid, inseparable thing. THE Mess. And her butterfly brain says to her "We were looking for pasta, but there's only The Mess here, which means we have no pasta at home, which means we have to go and buy it". Wonderful, another two or three packs of pasta end up joining The Mess and becoming a part of it.

Your pantry is gorgeous! I love the shallow drawer for the waxed paper and foil. What is the paint color on the wall of the pantry? I think that would look great in my home office/craft room.

Kay, I have been watching you for years so you can imagine how often I am exposed ELFA through you. Not blaming you! I love how modular it is and I WISH I could afford an ELFA setup. My shoe & entryway-ish closet could be more space optimized and I'm considering to finally take the plunge and redo it (one half) in ELFA. So, I am so psyched for that All You Need to Know about ELFA video. Maybe you already will but will you please include that one thing about closet dimensions - I forget where you mention it but it was something like how people came in with a walk-in closet sized closet but with ELFA installed it was better to treat it as a non-walk in. Did that ring any bells? 😅 I hope I didn't conflate two ELFA designing methods 🙈 Love how your pantry turned out!!

Great video. The music is a bit too loud. I’m having the word time keeping my Elfa shelving tightened on my bathroom door. I’ve tried everything. I’m thinking about putting a free standing unit in my dining room as a pantry similar to what you have by your door. One side with shelves, the other with drawers.

Question! Does it matter that the flours in glass jars is next to a window with light coming in? My pantry in my kitchen is also next to a window, which has blinds on it, but I wonder sometimes...
