If you are taking on the fabulous West Highland Way or even just looking for a place to rest the head for a few nights then you need to checkout the campsite 'By The Way' in Tyndrum, Scotland
You need to book except for 1 man tents I think (check first) but what a place for pitching or relaxing in your glamping pod.
It is so handy with the train station less than 60 seconds from the site and the Way itself seconds from the entrance.
This is a wee tour of the place and well worth a look if you are looking for a place to go for a wee adventure

My uncle was the station Master at Tyndrum Upper Train Station. He lived in a cottage just at the back of it. I spent many fun times as a child/you adult in Tyndrum. R.I.P Uncle John and Cousin Caroline ❤ Nice Post Scott.

Happy new.year sir. That's really cool about your uncle. I'll have a look for the cottage next time I'm up there for sure. If you are an outdoors person ( which I know you are) Tyndrum is a great base camp for taking on more northern areas. I have had many a pint in the Tyndrum Inn and even had a wee dance when a live band was playing lol. Cracking place and the campsites there including Forest Lodge are great for sticking a tent down for a night or two. Thanks for watching. Happy hiking as always sir. Give Voss a treat from me lol 👍😃👍🥾🥾🎒🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi Sir. Its fantastic place to stop and rest those feet. I do like taking a tent away (weather permitting lol) but I try and show different ways to do the Way so that there is no excuse for not having a bash at it lol. As you know being involved with it at any point brings me so much joy. Comfort can be key to getting the miles in so these pods are brilliant. Thanks for watching as always and if you havent done the Way then go for it. Well worth it 👍😀👍🥾🥾🎒🥃🥃

Ahaha never rule out a tent as it can be a more free experience. You know how much I like that path and when you did it was the first videos I watched of yours. Its just a wonderful thing and to showcase places like this it gives people an idea that you can do it in comfort....ish rather than hauling a house on your back for 97 miles lol The pods are great fun and being so close to the main road or the train station what's not to like lol. By The Way...thanks for watching and supporting. Take care 👍😀👍🥾🥾🎒🥃🥃

This is a fantastic video! I want to stay there and take the train to Oban. Do you know the books by Lillian Beckwith? She lived in the Hebrides for a number of years after leaving the North of England. Anyway she mentions Oban in her books several times. Very well done video. I love the music you chose.

A massive Happy New Year to you too sir. The campsite is great. Both this one and Forest Pines campsite are great. By the way is just brilliant for the train station. You can rollout of bed or your tent and onto a train in seconds ahahha. Check pricing and availability before you go. The West Highland Way as you know can be done many ways and it's all down to budget and how comfy you want to be....but there is always options. I've carried a tent, I've taken the car and I've taken a bus or train to various parts of the Way and it's still gives me so much joy just putting my boot print on it. I have a fair amount of passion for it as youcan tell lol. It would be great to meet you on it one day...with or without a tent..and def a pint or 2 lol. I can see you always thinking about a good hike lol. Wrap up warm, get the hotflask in the pack, get the boots on and go for it in 2024. Glad to hear from you as always. Speak soon sir. Happy hiking as always 👍😃👍🥾🥾🎒

Hi, honestly the campsites here are brilliant. This one is so handy to everything and a awesome base camp for a train journey to a new adventure. The West Highland is a bug passion of mine and try and get on bits of it as much as I can. Have you walked it before? This is a great place to go and walk a bit north and come back or walk south and getthe bus back to the site. Check though availability and prices. I had such a great time here and I actually went outside at about 3.30am just to look at the stars and take it all in. Great fun. Thanks for watching. Speak soon. 👍😃👍🥾🥾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥃🥃

This is fantastic, but the way 🫢Those pods look great and the place is so handy for the station it should be packed all through at least spring to autumn.

Yeah it's def a book before you turn up. I think if you are walking or backpacking through then sometimes you can just turn up. But always best to check amd give them a call to plan a pitch. The train station both on the lower and upper are so handy for taking you onto some stunning locations. Queen Street to Tyndrum...pitch the tent and spend a few days doing some amazing day trips. Bliss. They open 1st April. The pods are certainly a different way to do it and the costs are actually good if they are split a few ways then it's a comfier way of taking on the Way. Glad you enjoyed this and 'By The Way' this could lead to a few thoughts of some adventures for this year 👍😃🥾🥾🥾🥾🎒🎒🥃🥃

The pods are awesome. A bit different from taking on the Way with a tent. It's sooooo close to that train station. Queen Street to Tyndrum lower and you are right there....a wee country retreat..bliss. You know what I'm like on the WHW and never ceases to amaze me. Thanks for watching Hope all is well 👍😀👍🥾🥾🎒🥃🥃🥃🥃❤️
