When “Andi” is picking a fight with the disrupters she says “my life was taking away from me. My life.” This is in a literal sense, but they don’t know that.

One of my favourite details about this film is how the disruptors wear their masks when they first meet on the dock before heading to Miles' island. Lionel, being a scientist who's clearly taking the pandemic seriously, is wearing a proper face mask, wears it correctly, and generally avoids physical contact. Claire's mask keeps sliding down her face and leaving her nose exposed, showing how she's more concerned with making herself look like she's actually following guidelines. Birdy is wearing a mesh face masks, which looks really stylish but has absolutely no practical use. And of course, Duke doesn't wear a mask at all

Yep, that's a trademark of Johnson to reveal aspects of his characters. He did something similar in "Knives Out" regarding the reactions of characters to Blanc's introduction. Jamie Lee Curtis's Linda knows exactly who Blanc is because she read his "New Yorker" profile, showing she's a well-read and accomplished professional woman. Toni Collette's Joni recognizes his name after a moment because she "read a tweet about the New Yorker profile", showing she's shallow and obsessed with social media. And Don Johnson's Richard has no clue who Blanc is because he doesn't read at all. He's the kind of guy who has lots of books in his house for show (preferably old leatherbound editions), but never actually reads them.

31:55 - The Serena Williams cameo gets even funnier when you realize the book she's reading is "Gravity's Rainbow", which Blanc mentioned in "Knives Out" was a book that no one reads.

The four cameos playing "Among Us" with Benoit and their connections....Angela Lansbury was in MURDER, SHE WROTE, Natasha Lyonne is starring in Rian Johnson's new murder mystery series POKER FACE on Peacock this month, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has written mystery novels based on Sherlock Holmes' brother Mycroft, and Stephen Sondheim co-wrote the classic murder mystery movie THE LAST OF SHIELA in 1973 that inspired this film (which you all should watch). 😃

I totally agree that the subtitle Knives Out Mystery sets up the movies for unfair comparison. I like A Benoit Blanc Mystery because it sets up the franchise as an anthology of mysteries vs series of sequels. No doubt all the movies that come up will be able to stand on their own merits. Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc is absolutely stellar.

I loved the subtle clues that Rian dropped through out the entire movie that Miles was the dumbest and that his only skills were his talent for misdirection and own natural charm. The nod of the Beatles song (Glass Onion) and the easter egg of Paul McCartney's guitar (which I found out was supposed to be left handed but Miles was playing a normal right handed guitar), Jeremy Renner's Hot Sauce, Gillian Flynn writing his murder; everything he had was created by someone else.

Benoit Blanc still continues to be enjoyable and Daniel Craig is clearly having fun in the role. Since the ending of the movie only really works if the Mona Lisa is real, I would say that it's more likely that in the Glass Onion universe, the real Mona Lisa is a canvas and not a piece of wood. And for the record, I don't think it is canvas in the movie, I do think that we're seeing paint burning off of wood.

I noticed at beginning "Black Bird" Paul's song about a black woman standing up for herself during civil rights refers to Andi and Helen. And the Dong sound composed by Phil Glass, like the glass Miles filled with pineapple juice. Also, no one ever notices that Benoit calls Andi Helen before she gets shot. Also, besides Miles' made up words, he has a piece of art on the wall that's actually upside down, inverting our expectations of him being smart or culturally refined. These are similar criticisms that were levied against Steve Jobs, Zuckerberg, and Musk. There's more to discover I am sure.

I love how this film neatly inverts the theme of Knives out. The first film started out seeming like a pretty simple mystery and by half way we thought we knew what had happened. It ends up being much more complicated with layer upon layer of mystery. Glass onion however seems pretty complex at first with many potential suspects all harbouring there own motives for murder. It eventually ends up being a simple plot with the most obvious suspect practically telling us he was guilty from the beginning. I also love that you guys were the only reactors so far that I have seen who actually seemed to recognise and actually reacted to seeing the legend that was Angela Lansbury. So just to make the ending a little more Delicious lets make a point by point of what Miles is facing as punishment. -One the Mona Lisa is considered to be worth 874 Million Dollars declared by the French Government, the Louvre and the Society of Art and Culture. Miles for some DUMB reason installed an OVERRIDE switch on the Paintings protective field, which violates the Insurance contract, meaning Miles will not only be sued to pay for the destruction of the Mona Lisa he'll also be sued for destruction of Property of History Value and Culture which was property of the state as well as committing Insurance Fraud. -The Public Launch of KLEAR destroying said Mona Lisa will most likely result in Miles losing support, money and influence from his investors, which i imagine he already spent on that House which is now in flames. -And finally should there be a trial he'll most likely get 2 life sentences for 1st Degree Murder of Cassandra Brand and Second Degree Murder of Duke. Delicious Justice in the end.

A Knives Out Mystery (spoiler free) The 2019 original Knives Out and the 2022 sequel Glass Onion are rewatchable films. Unlike other movies in the “whodunit” (murder) genre, the reveals enhanced rewatch experience as subtle clues became obvious. The director (Rian Johnson) is a master of expectation subversion and misdirection, as he made a distinctly different sequel in the same universe. Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is the only returning character anchoring both movies. The first movie was set in a stuffy British house with a patriarch and his dysfunctional family (old money-ish). The sequel was set on a private Greek island of a billionaire surrounded by his inner circle of “disrupters” (new money-ish). The first movie is better (in my opinion), but the second is a worthy sequel - more transparent (glass), more layered (onion), and more fun in the sun.

We're thinking about it. Reactions for it just don't get that many views from what it looks like. All that editing would take tons of time for barely anyone to watch them.

We haven't reacted to Willow since episode 4, and you're only the second person to ask. Says something about how that show is going.

I thought this was decent but no where near as good as the first movie. It was a fun murder mystery whereas this was more so making fun of itself.

We felt it was more making fun of megalomaniac billionaires and how they feel they are the smartest people in the world who can get away with anything! Unfortunately for Miles, Benoit Blanc clashed with that character type. 😂

I am late to the party, I need to watch the first one. I just love the voices of Helen and Benoit, they should be audiobook narrators, that would be awesome. This movie was fun and funny and everything is in plain sight and you think it is a misdirect then it turns out to be not or whatever, very cool stuff. I love the hourly dong and how miles and peg and helen all do the double middle finger thing, how he cuts off him saying andi by saying anderson cooper, oh and yeah when miles says we all got to that line and crossed it and then he does the double middle finger thing and then helen crosses that line and does the fingers as she goes and crosses the line by destroying or changing something important by burning the mona lisa but it is on miles and not her. When I first saw darryl or derel or derol or however you spell his name, I immediately thought of the guy from the movie half baked who is just there but not really part of it. Everything is silver or glass but miles titties are golden. Loved watching it with you. Shitballs!
