The glassing in the show is a joke in comparison. That is a small village. In the clips of reach the beams of plasma dwarf mega sky scrapers, they cover about 2 square miles of surface and around 50 blocks of the city into molten glass EVERY SECOND. The glassing beam does not just leave a trail behind it, IT PENETRATES DEEP AND MAKES LARGE PUDDLES AND LAKES OF GLASS. NOT THIN RIVERS OF IT, like shown in the show. It will turn the ground beneath a city into hot liquid glass quicksand, and buildings will sink into the molten earth, before collapsing. It wouldn’t just turn a couple little village huts to rubble, they’d become liquid. A single glassing beam hitting the center of that village for a LITERAL SECOND, wouldve vaporized all of them instantly. They wouldn’t be able TO SEE THE BEAM THAT CLOSE.

agree with you completely but the show isn't canon so im not suprised. or perhaps they're using the weak beam from halo wars, who knows

I don’t really like the show’s because it doesn’t have the over dramatic explosion that happens the moment it hits, it acts more like a bomb, more realistic

People can complain about the show all they want but I'm just wondering why they didn't keep the different armor colors of the covenant to indicate rank, especially for Elites. Not sure why they didn't keep the glassing beam reddish either, but ehhhh...

@@entomologistmaximus5097 A science lesson is in order. The color of plasma is decided by it's fuel (that's why neon lights can come in different colors). Also, the hotter something is then in the visible spectrum it'll start getting closer to blue and then white. So honestly I do prefer the halo show's depiction of the glassing plasma.

The TV Show was great because it showed the chaos up close. The games never really did it this close.

The visuals in season 2 are spectacular. Feels like the big screen performance Halo fans have deserved with top tier special effects.

Why do the Covenant even bother with ground engagements if they can just glass whole cities. I get the covenant using ground forces to board stations, ships, or even using them to knock out anti air or comm relays, but other than that just glass planets. In Halo Reach was it that necessary to land troops to wreak havoc on cities and waste troops when they get killed by UNSC ground forces ?

luckly i got a 3 month deal with paramount+ in time enough to watch the whole season as it goes :) not trying to promote the streaming service especially because of season 1 of halo but, its getting much better!

The glassing in the show is good probably the best in Halo media of memory. But come on, you didn't even show the glassing from Halo Reach. There's multiple skybox glassing's in the level New Alexandria, the glassing destroying Frigate Grafton, even the glassing from orbit in the Halo Reach reveal trailer. There’s plenty more media you could have shown. There's even the Halo Wars trailers, Halo Wars gameplay, Halo Wars 2, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST. This was not much of a fair comparison when the ones you show are character cinematic’s that were made to show the feelings of the characters. Not the actual power of the Covenant’s glassing power.

I focused mainly on in-game cutscenes, but you are right, I could have included gameplay. The issue is, seeing it off in the distance with no meaningful impact to the player or their emotions leads to more people clicking off the video. While you are not wrong at all, KZfaq is a game ;)

I think the glassing in games look more powerful and destructive Of course I know that u can't make CGI to the extent of game Game is just on another level But it's ok for live action But in game it looks Million times more powerful and destructive
