They were pretty big in their time touring with deftones and Daryl going onto form Head Automatica that were like one of the pioneers for early 2000s indie rock pop.

I disagree. He was not reliable 20 years ago. Always a talent dont get me wrong. Now he is the real deal and you can see some vocal training. Years ago he would hardly sing 1third of a set.

Like someone else said here, Dillinger is the other band with such fucked up lineup rules. At least it wasn't because of a plane crash or a fucking nerve damage fuckin a Tripping so whatever

I'm 34 now and I've loved them since high school. Glassjaw and Slipknot are my bucket list bands.

@@joshuahowland5061 I've been lucky enough to see both. Just recently caught two straight Glassjaw shows, they played EYEWTKAS the first night and then Worship and Tribute the second night. They are one of the tightest live bands I've ever seen, if you ever get the chance to see them don't pass it up!

He's ALMOST Durijah. Probably better on a technical level, but man Durijah just slams these songs so perfectly.

From what I read on the inter webs, I heard they had a performance at another festival that same day in another country and they were just trying to make the most out of it. Don’t quote me lol.

One thing i don't understand. Who is changing effects on guitar? He doesn't have any pedalboard in front of him and effects shift all the time.

@@genefrankle1 , it might be automated. Most musicians now create their set tracks through their laptops where everything is already there. I think their in-ear monitors give them hints as to when they'll start et al.

Sadly, this performance only had like 20-25 people in the crowd. Watch when they show a shot from behind the band the field is empty. From what I read they were playing 2 shows that day, one here and the other at arctangent festival.

Dude, this happened here in Mexico City too, we were the opening band to the only time Gj has come to Mexico, one of my greatest memories. And then, when they started to play, it was Beck, Daryl, Durijah and Manuel Carrero facing each other for like 5 songs, then Daryl started to interact a little bit more, shit got cray cray, the place was crowded af. @@genefrankle1 more than likely his guitar tech is turning on and off effects. This is normal for bigger bands, especially when they’re bouncing around between effects.

@@DanielRodriguez-eh1qd ya it would be either this or he has all the changes pre-programmed in his rig via MIDI to a click track that the drummer is synced to, which would explain why, despite how chaotic the music is, it is very tight rhythmically.

Very true - Beck plays interesting chord and I love his leads. I do miss Todd in the band though, for the reasons you mentioned. Some songs really benefit from the two guitars; Ape Dos Mil and Gillette Cavalcade come to mind.

@@RC-fi8nn I miss the dual guitars as well, but Beck plays with so much feeling. He absolutely slays at this show. I can only imagine that his performances are different from show to show. It seems like the the kind of style where he has something in mind, but whatever happens, happens in the end.

You've got such a journey to go on - they are just such an incredible band - but nowadays when they come to the UK you only really get London - so get on the 20th anniversary shows asap!

I was lucky enough to catch them both in Long Island with Thrice and Manchester Orchestra on the same show. It was absolute destruction in the best way possible.
