I'm due for some picking therapy. Sue and I hit New Oxford, the "original antiques capital of south-central PA." While browsing a few new antique shops, we stumble upon the motherlode of glassware: Fenton, LE Smith, Dugan, Westmoreland!

Please note that the reseller market does fluctuate. Depending on the age of this video, the values of antiques and collectibles quoted in this installment may be out-of-date and no longer relevant. Enjoy with caution.

You have improved so dramatically in voice, explanations, camera work, purchase selection.... It really took this video to appreciate your growth and success. CONGRATS.

Thank you for your GREAT video and sharing your knowledge. I do the storage shed auction thing. I bought one a few months back, with over 100 pieces of carnival glass in it. Still trying to research and learn the value of all it. I have learned that it is not worth what it use to be :( but still some pretty neat pieces in it.

I am from PA-no, a lot of people would actually buy them in PA-it May be the local area seems modest-I love old glass & lamps also, even the cheap pretty glass. I don’t really collect too much though. Children and breakables usually do not fare well. It was a little dizzying going through the glass, but enjoyed the lessons. Your daughter was probably bored, but very well behaved! Thank you for sharing!

17:26 The prices on those lamps sounds about like my uncles lamp prices, the cheaper ones that is. He and my grandfather have dealt in antiques for as long as I can remember. My uncle refinished Ms. Kitty’s brass bed on the show Gunsmoke. He may finally be retired now. He did sell me a kerosene lamp years ago at an extreme discount. 🥰

I think you are terrific and so much fun. I think its so great the knowledge you have acquired on antiques and collectables is super!!I have to say, why do millennials have a thing about dolls being creepy? I worked in an antique store that was a warehouse building which housed 132 individual dealers. One dealer sold nothing but dolls and so many of the older dolls were super beautiful. The French dolls ,which were the most of expensive, had eyes made out of glass that was super stunning. The older Victorian dolls especially are truly like works of art. I think if you look at them at the craftsmanship alone, you would observe them in a different angle. Also, when I observe them, I think of the little kids who once cherished them with lots of love and that puts a smile on my face.

If you ever make it near east central Illinois stop by the Amish antique shops in Arthur Illinois. Prices are much lower in rural towns and they have some neat stuff. They also sell homemade goodies like jelly, honey, cheese... Arthur is about 20 minutes south of Champaign which is easier to find. ;o)

If the first Egyptian revival was in the 20's, then the second one had to be in the 1970's, when King Tut's treasures toured the US, on into the 80's. My mom and dad went to New Orleans in the mid 70's to see it. They talked about it for months. There have been several tours since. The treasures are in the middle of the last worldwide tour right now in 2019.

I know this is a old video but just found you and enjoy your finds..I stitch reproduction Samplers and know a bit about Samplers...the one you found is not old. If it was from the 1800s the linen would be very stained...and the lettering is off..they didn't stitch names the way that one was...still worth 25 to some people ...but not from the 1800 people now are making them look old with putting old dates on them...just thought maybe this would help...

No you were right - there was a small Egyptian 'thing' in the mid-century; 1940s-1950s, mostly in jewelry as it was stuff bought home from the war. the tool caddy that was $695 is an early cutlery tray isn't it? I couldn't see it that well and I'm not up on early American but it looked like 19th cent whereas the other one was (probably) 1950s shed work. Be really careful with samplers as there's a ton of fakes out there - something that says 1814 might've been made in 1986. Good video, can't believe it took me this long to find it! 😆
