Just a bit of background guys. I was in a band here in Glasgow called Kessler. We were (still are) friends with the guys from Glasvegas and played a number of gigs with them.The band are heavily influenced by the 50s doo whop sounds as well as the wall of sound” style, shoegaze era and bands such as Jesus and Mary Chain. We always played that type of songs when we were all in the pub drinking as band mates around 2005-2012.. I actually played on one of their songs, called Geraldine - I played a guitar part for them on that track. My band split in 2012 but we always knew Glasvegas were gonna make it. I personally preferred their earlier stuff just before they got signed - and although I don’t really listen to them a lot, I remain friends with a few of them!

The song is about how going out and cheating on his wife and doing drugs on a weekend made him go insane, start questioning the loyalty of his own wife due to his own insecurities about what he was doing himself. The ecstasy brings temporary happiness but eventually you reach a point where the drug rips your mind apart so much. The karma of everything he was doing began to catch up on him and his life began falling apart all at once. He’s crying and feeling sorry for himself knowing he was responsible for his own downfall. The song is very relatable and personal to me, went through a similar period in my life and the song almost entails exactly how I felt and what I went through.

Haven't heard Glasvegas for a long time. Being Scottish myself the Glasgow accent pulls you quickly back in. Great song. Don't you just love the profanity and the Scots way of using swear words? Lyrics on screen would be better written as said, 'mum' should be ma or maw, 'doesn't' should read disnae. Give me Scot's dialect over Queen's English any day.

One of those great mid-2000s Brit bands that made some good music then disappeared off the map. Then there's the other category: bands that had great first and second albums, then never quite matched them, e.g. the Strokes, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand. Arctic Monkeys were a notable exception to this trend. EDIT: Looks like they had two more albums, and another one coming this April. Hmm. Check that out.

Beautiful dreamy guitar sounds. They have some lovely dreamy titles, but my wife banned the snowflake album some years ago. Haha. She said it was too violent and could have been a bit cleaner. I still love that album. I was a bit surprised to see this here today.

I've only heard these from the fifa franchise (a soccer game) never even knew they were Scottish definitely need to deep dive into them

Different song. Sung with a strong accent. Story/lyrics were a bit hard to follow on a first listen. Instrumentally it was ok. What’s the story morning glory and I immediate think on Oasis with their song with the same phrase
