And it's only Tina and Rachel that received at least a solo, a duet, and lead in group number in competitions. And Roderick received a solo in invitational. If invitational's included, it would boost Roderick's time as well as Kitty and Spencer, they got a duet lol.

Does Jenna even speak Korean? Not trying to be funny because I'm also Korean but I know she was adopted by a white couple.

Right? I was shocked that Blaine came in 3rd since he was in s2-5 and had the 2 warbler solos and the 1 warbler duet. But at the same time… not surprised 😂

But y’all got to realize it was built around her to sing at competitions so it’s no shock

@@kingdrip294 I mean it makes sense for unique since she was in VA so she got 3 solos, while Santana only had 1. It’s just kind of annoying that Rachel got a solo almost every competition and then continued to sing lead in the following songs. When someone else got a lead part at a competition they only sang that one song and didn’t sing in the other 2.

AND she wasn’t allowed to perform in TWO of the competitions!!! Season 2 cause Shue wanted others to shine and Season 3 because she cheated in the school elections!!

@@JustEdgeOfficial there where better voices then Kurt but of s3 team Kurt still is number 3 on male voices. its just when ya put whole team together Kurt ends up in middle of the pack. they acted like Kurt was best male singer in s1 he wasn't that belongs to Artie. like what was showed didn't match claims made in show. im still annoyed that Artie and Kurt never got duet as friends if Artie and Blaine as friends can do to duets 1 at competition(control is duet spoken words don't count) and no one flinch i don't see why Artie and Kurt couldn't get duet. actually in duets if done right in s2 been perfect time. Kurt was feeling lonely and whole Brittany situation that happened to Artie it just made so much sense for them sing friendship duet but nope they had go all weird and bring Rachel into things. Kurt is good just not stellar.

Kurt had a beautiful voice, but many times the solos he would've shined on went to one of the girls, not to mention, they did a lot of ballads and pop songs, and Kurt's voice is made for theatrical, emotional numbers (Being Alive, Rose's Turn, As If We Never Said Goodbye, Defying Gravity, For Good). He could've been utilized better if they wouldn't have gave Rachel so many vocal solos (especially in early seasons). It was the same issue with Mercedes. She deserved competition solos, but instead, she was given power belts. Kinda disappointing, but I'm not shocked.

Same as with Blaine. But at least they recognized him more than Unique

Well for vocal adrenaline they always used jessie and unique as the lead while the others where essentially backup dancers and the wablers literally only used blaine, sebastian, and hunter say what you will about new directions but out all the other important glee clubs they were the only ones with actual variety

@@davejonas1094 yes but Rachel clearly has too much minutes singing compared to Finn. If it wasn't for the Troubletones Brittany, Santana and Mercedes would have had a lot less time singing. Will set up the ND so the outcasts can shine but clearly showed favouritism when it came to who was going to sing a solo.

That's because even if Mercedes is given more credits, except when she left the Glee club, she only sang high and powerful notes at the end of songs. That's impressive but doesn't last long. Tina, well... They did her dirty with Gangnam style but it gave her screen time

It's noticeable that Tina carried two songs (ABC & Gangnam) even though both are technically group numbers (Ryder and Kitty are backup for Gangnam), but she also has decent sections in the S4 and S5 songs. A lot of Mercedes's competition songs were often split between 3-6 people, and she'd often get adlibs.

Tina was in school a year after Mercedes and got more time to shine

there are reasons ppl get pissed for Artie and Mercedes the thing is that i'm only tiny bit shocked by not that much if warblers taken out Artie sang for few more seconds then Blaine. its how its handed out that confuses ppl.

Mercedes did have more songs, tina's were just longer I think

If in three seasons Rachel sang for one hour *only* in competitions i would've quit glee a long time ago, and i would most definitively not be a stan

She was on season 3 that's where most of her time is from, and she still sang very little in my opinion considering how amazing she is. And she was totally wasted in the ND competitions

This🙌 and even if Rachel did get a majority of the songs I don’t get why they couldn’t give Mike and brittany some kind of dance solo. I mean I know Rachel was mad that they were going to dance in front of her while she sang so maybe that’s why🙃lol the only time they got a dance showcase was when santana had a solo(aka the only other person in s1-3 who got a solo 🥲)

s3 sectionals group number was well set up as was regionals s3 group number. Man in the mirror and fly/i belive i can fly. s2 Valerie was dancing show case.

RIGHT, she was basically considered the leader of the season 4 newbies yet they gave her one competition song and that was it 😭😭

Thiss.. Also is kinda sad how in the only competition where she even received attention or it seemed like she did smth 'important' was the one she passed and New Directions almost got discualified, that was literally the only competition she received any attention

I mean Quinn, Brittany, Kurt and Puck only sang in 2 competitions I think, so I think Rachel having solos in every competition (despite those 2), it’s still unfair. Mike only sang in one tho.

@@joshtruism2846 Gangnam Style pushed her screentime, yes. But the other songs too. In fact, ABC gave Tina more singing time than other songs even though she had a solo and a duet. And ABC is a group number (although it feels like a Tina's solo with Mike, Kurt, and Quinn as back ups lol)

Tina rarely had done singing covers for non competition while Santana n Mercedes especially in S2 n S3 had tons of covers n duets..even Brittany had more than Tina in S2 n S3

To be fair Cory was brought there to act, singing was not the main focus in his cast, and he did his thing. The drum thing was just to show that he had any kinda of musicality in him wich he did. He could more than carry a tune right from the beggining Somebody to love? and he improved a lot: Paradise by the dashboard light? But something that bothers me is how the producers invested in training his voice and not Heather and Harry or maybe even Mark, and how they casted Kevin who out shined him in every walking living way and pretend he wasn't better than Finn by miles

If anything the fact that Darren audiotioned with Baby one more time and got more than 30 songs shows that Ryan Murphy has a thing for him

Rachel and Finn both had to much time. Rachel amount is ridiclous. and Finn should had less as others are better then him.

I wasn't. As a Kurt fan, it became depressingly obvious as the show went on how little he was being featured in ND's competition set-lists.

Rachel was in every season 1-6, however, Tina, Brittany, and Artie were in more competition episodes than her because she was older than them and graduated before they did so she was in competitions seasons 1-3 and they were in competitions seasons 1-4. So, it is kind of crazy that even though they were in more comps than her, she still had a crazy overflow of time in the competition performances compared to everyone else.
