And it's to easy to play with people feelings, specially with someone that has down syndrome because they want to feel normal, so the truth is that someone can use that to his favor. And it's sad because they should feel and be treated normal, but most people don't do that, so when they saw him being that way with her they thought it wasn't normal. PS don't get me wrong. They were wrong, but i can see their point of view

I forget what his name was but a pretty famous case of a man keeping women in a pit in his basement and his primary targets were people with developmental differences because they can be easily manipulated (because of the loneliness and sheltered life. Literally sheltered in this case because he preyed on group homes).

Different disabilities different cognitive functioning while I do not think this is the case with Becky there are some people with certain disabilities that effect them in such a way that they don't understand and cannot consent to sex so just because arti is in a wheelchair and can live a relatively normal life doesn't mean someone else with a different disability can, to compare the two is unfair on both

I don't think that because she has down syndrome she's not allowed to date or go out or have a normal life my aunt has down syndrome and she's just as normal as anybody

Honestly, Beaste transitioning from presenting female to presenting as a man, sends a message that if you look like too masculine for a woman, you mind as well become a man, otherwise you'll just be an unlovable freak. Which is a horrible message and how many people probably took it, definitely the women and girls who resonate with Beaste being more masculine for a woman. Unique, however, would've been a better transitioning story, since they basically set Unique's character up for that specific storyline and already had Unique presenting as a woman on stage while singing and even pretending to be a girl to get with Sam.

@@elistari1050as a trans guy i agree. glee was no stranger to introducing new characters in later seasons, if they wanted a trans man they could've just wrote one in. Beiste had his own rich development as a masculine woman, desperate for affection leading to violence in the home. and then they just made him trans and you're left thinking, so the lesson is..... gender nonconformity isn't ok and if you're a femboy or a tomboy you'd might as well be trans? because that take is also definitely not helping the trans community lol. they also had Beiste's entire transition happen offscreen (in a summer which is absurd), and it feels like they just weren't prepared to justify Beiste being gendered correctly by other characters before looking like a "real" man. it was all very gross. but this scene with Becky gets it right. glee was so hit or miss about these things lol

@@noraafrica3555 to be fair, I think Justin Prentice (the actor) is closer to his character as Darell in Glee than Bryce in 13 Reasons Why. I admit I was a fan of 13RW (I will regret it for an eternity), and I watched a heck lot of their interviews when it was newly released, which prompted me to somehow familiarize with the cast (at least with how the media controls it which is almost all the time). Then, here in Glee, I think his character reflects more of his nice, eloquent persona in real life. Fun fact: he was homeschooled.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, why do we have to label and research people with Autism, Autism Spectrum, or Asperger's (though the third one apparently no longer exists, or something of the sort)? Why can't it just be a casual thing about someone that we don't consciously look at? "Yes, this person has Autism (Spectrum Disorder), but so what? Why does that matter? Let's move on, to something much more important." It's no big deal...or is it? It's like being weirded out by left handers and researching them. Being left-handed...is perfectly normal, and not worth the attention that used to exist several years ago. So why does having any sort of Autism, by society's standards, have to make you weird or different? I thought everybody was weird and different. I just don't get it.

That they think she's inferior or something. That's like saying, "I think Carl is using Anna. Why? Because he's dating her." (These are just made-up names by the way.) But that's insulting to Anna, showing that the accuser doesn't think she can get a date on her own, unless she's being used. Now, unless I'm mistaken, the women here wouldn't be this nosy and suspicious if Becky didn't have downs syndrome. Her syndrome, alone, is why they suspect Darrell is using her. They are underestimating and ridiculing her, even unintentionally. Does my point make sense? Oh, while I'm here, what did Quinn mean by "bigots"? I don't understand the context around her word.
