Rachel was just so full of herself when she was not even the best. She thought that because she grew up learning to sing and dance, but as Santana said she was just as good as Rachel without all that work.

Danaysha Greene Actually there are a LOT of Glee songs that I love but even if you stuck a gun in my face (or said you were going to take your mask off and cough on me) I wouldn’t be able to tell you you why except that I really like the beat. Which is sort of circular and doesn’t really “explain” why I love it. I just do! I Feel Pretty/Unpretty is one of my fav duets in the entire series. (So. You take all Klaine duets; all Kurt/Rachel duets; all Kurt/Elliott duets; & TBH, all Rachel/Jessie duets, & toss in Dream On - just totally spectacular!) and yet still, Pretty/Unpretty is way up there. [Just looked at my llst - 4th duet from the top: Dream On, Smooth Criminal, and Rolling in the Deep are above it.] As I said originally, ppl have unique tastes!!

But by this point in Glee I pretty much despised Will for how he WASNT/DIDNT help Kurt when he needed it. (Which by the by began in the pilot episode. What a douche!! Also, my memories of that episode are also overwhelmed by 1- Rachel throwing away the rule of BFF (asking out or simply dating the guys/girls [whichever] that your friend has already expressed a true desire for (as opposed to “so and so has a nice ass”). If it’s a mutual like/love match there’s a codicil, but she “just wanted to see if there was something there” . So she’s a shitty friend. Then, 2- Blaine, to,whom Kurt had expressed his personal feelings, accepted a date w Rachel RIGHT IN FRONT OF KURT. Blaine;s not ‘obligated’ to return Kurt;s feelings. But, as they are now hanging around as, basically, best buds, one would think that Blaine would be nice enough to NOT except dates in front of Kurt, most especially from his “frenemy” Rachel. (Yes, they’re hanging out w’ Merc but Rachel always looks out for number 1.) At this point in time, Kurt would have explained his embarrassing crush on Finn & what happened afterwards [dont get me started] & how ultimately Rachel ended up w Finn. So, of all ppl, why on earth would Blaine accept a date w RACHEL?! Then, after being brought onto the show as an out and proud gay boy, why on earth would he backtrack and suddenly decide - hey, wait a second - maybe I DO like girls and I’m bisexual! You’d think he’d have had an inkling at some point in his 16 yrs of life that would have led him to one or the other thought. So, I spent much of 2x14 hate-watching Blaine and Rachel sing “Don’t you want me baby!” while Kurt and Finn remained unhappy and sober. 3- This rarely comes up but either Burt was SO ABSOLUTELY SURE that nothing would happy w Brittany when Kurt brought her home (what was it - 1x18? The same episode he sang Rose’s Turn and Pink Houses) that his only comment to the two of them was to use protection. When Burt found a FULLY DRESSED BLAINE in Kurt;s bed, he freaked out and made a huge fuss abt needing to know beforehand what was happening in Kurt;s life. He either has a double standard not to be believed, or retains a bit of that homophobia he;s tried so very much to get rid of since Kurt was born. So. My memories of that ep are completely skewed as a result of what was happening w Kurt bc when I watched Glee, that was basically my main purpose. OTOH, Blame it (On the Alcohol) was fantastic both bc the song was great and also bc the kids were still totally trashed and could barely stand upright for more than 20 seconds at a time.

Pamela Rosen yea by ur description of the episode ( I don’t watch season 1 that often) I can see why the song got easily over shadowed. It was a lot going on in the episode which is probably why it slipped passed everyone. Plus blame it on the alcohol definitely took the place of the best song in the episode.
